I remember him more in the Doogie Howser role than the HSB role. Good actor - RIP. Getting back to HSB, at one time, the Sgt. who did roll call played Mike Stivick’s Polish uncle on All in the Family, right?

yep Michael Conrad (Sgt. Phil Esterhaus)" be careful out there" played that role

roll call sergeant Esterhaus ... Michael Conrad. No relation to Robert Conrad (Black Sheep Squadron and The Wild Wild West) whose birth name was Conrad Falk, no relation to Peter Falk..who played Columbo, the show Sikking had roles in.

It was reported that Sikking died of complications from dementia
In my opinion :His role as Lt.Howard Hunter on Hill Street Blues was a classic and a big reason for that series success

I cant watch doctor/lawyer/cop/mafia shows but the HSB opening was one of the best
