Trump always announces random tariffs on Friday evenings to:
A- make a point but not spook the markets since they are closed
B- to tank the crypto market since it’s the only vehicle open so his sons can buy the dip while they work on the SBR
C- he gets bored
D- all of the above

Sold my PLTR. Small position. Up 25%. Way expensive and it looks like the stock has stalled. I'll look to pick it back up later.

Good strategy. Most people make money by buying high and selling higher.

If I had stayed in way back when it was in the teens and I was up 10x I would have trimmed substantially, but maintained a position. But since I missed it, I can't justify owning a stock that rich. Took my profit.

See if I can trade it again in the future.
Why do this? You are better off selling upside calls to generate additional revenue.

FYI - Any recommendations for my HOOD position? It’s my largest position in my personal account and already up about 70%. I think it will go way higher but surely experience downside volatility. Any option plays I should think about?

We are close to a short term top. I would sell July 18 $75 calls for more than $3. Good return

Sounds good. I have never sold calls before. If HOOD hits $75 prior to July 18, do the shares automatically get taken away? I assume I can sell 1 contract per 100 shares.

How many shares do of HOOD do you own?
Little bit over 300. Cost basis around $39. I am signed up for tier 1 options on Fidelity, which allows me to sell covered calls (but not naked/uncovered calls, which I assume you need a margin account for).

You could sell 3 call options fro ~$3 for a total of $900. it maybe higher or lower depending on the market on Monday. If HOOD moves past $75 at the time of the expiration then they will sell all 300 stocks at $75. If HOOD is below $75, then you made $900.

On a separate note, anyone have a basket of pure play quantum stocks?

I have a custom basket of the following:
IONQ - 25%
RGTI - 25%
QBTS - 25%
QUBT - 12.5%
ARQQ - 12.5%

Thinking of adding QNCCF at some point. Others I am looking at are FORM, QSI.

Too late to buy these? Start very small and add on dips?

It was a small position, less then 1%. Didn't have enough to sell calls.

I could have sold calls way back when it was a much cheaper stock, but it would have been called away anyways.

Whoever owns the calls could excercise the contract at any point, but it typically doesn't happen till the expiration date.

But if you sell calls, and the stock goes into the money, you can always roll the calls up and out further down the timeline.

Got it. I guess if the shares get called away you get a tax hit for "selling" the position. Interesting stuff.

BigBear.ai (NYSE:BBAI) disclosed on Monday that it has entered into an agreement with Cantor Fitzgerald to sell up to $150M in an at-the-money stock offering.

Buy the dip after dilution?

Also, buy puts on the steel stocks after today's bounce?

I mention FCX above which resembles steel charts the last couple years…..for the worse.

I know cleveland cliffs has been terrible.

As per bbai. Already own it. In the red. Probably don’t want too big of a position.

Ceg up 41 pre market. New high. Energy deal with meta.
Wow, big news for the space. Big tech and nuke energy love each other.

Constellation Energy
— Shares of the energy giant jumped 9% after Meta signed a 20-year agreement to buy nuclear power from Constellation Energy. Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram, will buy roughly 1.1 gigawatts of energy from Constellation’s Clinton Clean Energy Center in Illinois beginning in June 2027. Shares of energy stocks Vistra Energy and NRG Energy rose 5% and 2%, respectively, in sympathy with the news.

Rev's were in line, 20% yoy growth.

They did raise 2026 EPS guidance.

Given the run it's been on this pull back looks pretty tame, and the chart continues to look great.

MS still with an overweight rating:

"The platform story gains further momentum, the expanded solution portfolio garners further traction and GenAI spurs strengthening demand trends, leading mgmt to reaffirm a view of 2H NNARR acceleration. Add expanding FCF margins and shares should see support, despite a premium valuation. OW."

Is Coreweave a meme stock now?

Also:
@RU-05 - sounds like you will need to start a new Stock & Investments thread once we move to ON3. History might be erased?
