Do you know their market share? I also find your talking points interesting. Rev doubled from 19 to 20. Rev in 20 was $5.5 million. I think this was a short squeeze play before. But I think it’s going to pop soon. You should just wait for ChargePoint to IPO if you want to invest in this space. So what are the specifics when you short? Do you agree on a timeline at the time of shorting, or can you play it by ear? How long can you be short a stock?
I haven't wanted to chase but BLNK has just kept rocketing higher. Still a small company, and I think you could get in trouble in they start signing deals with gov't agencies for large installations, but if it does have a big drop in the near future I'd probably look to get in.
Rev's nearly doubled 2019 to 2020. And are expecting to double again in 2021. Sign some big deals and that could jump by multiples.
I do not.Do you know their market share?
I edit my previous post with more info. Blink has 3% of the market and Volta has 2%.I do not.
But I do see a competitor just went public via spac. Volta. Current ticker of SNPR, which will eventually trade as VLTA. Jumped about 50% on the news of the merger.
I’ve been down on GM but I agree, they nailed the marketing here. It's a brilliant pr and marketing move to use the hummer name. It's going to be wildly successful. And the fact that GM is finally thinking this way is why I'm bullish on their Future. I think ford **** the bed using the mustang name for a car that isn't a sports car ev. They should have used a different name for a halo effect. Hummer as an EV deserves a marketing of the year award. Complete convergence of huge badass monstrosity + EV environmentalism = huge margins on a high price vehicle.
They learned a lot from TSLA. The idea of producing an affordable EV proved difficult. They will focus on their premium lineups and work their way down.I’ve been down on GM but I agree, they nailed the marketing here.
How bout Switchback? Also recently merged with a spac.I edit my previous post with more info. Blink has 3% of the market and Volta has 2%.
I think coming from a different place allows them to attack ev differently. TSLA would be limited on the # of cars they sold if they only sold high end. The legacy brands can sell their EV's on the high end and still sell a ton of affordable ice cars. They learned a lot from TSLA. The idea of producing an affordable EV proved difficult. They will focus on their premium lineups and work their way down.
Ok - good for you.... Still haven't stated why?
Is it because of fit and finish? Tesla's sucks btwis it because autopilot is superior? Have you compared with super cruise? Because some industry folks think it's superior.
Love your blanket statements that aren't grounded in anything real. Lol
SPAC thing scares me. It started out as a good idea but .......don’t know much about Switchback. How bout Switchback? Also recently merged with a spac.
Interesting footnote in Tesla’s 10-K regarding bitcoin.
We will account for digital assets as indefinite-lived intangible assets in accordance with ASC 350, Intangibles–Goodwill and Other. The digital assets are initially recorded at cost and are subsequently remeasured on the consolidated balance sheet at cost, net of any impairment losses incurred since acquisition. We will perform an analysis each quarter to identify impairment. If the carrying value of the digital asset exceeds the fair value based on the lowest price quoted in the active exchanges during the period, we will recognize an impairment loss equal to the difference in the consolidated statement of operations.
Where were you getting those market share #s?SPAC thing scares me. It started out as a good idea but .......don’t know much about Switchback.
Yeah, BTC got north of 48k and ETH broke the 1800 level. It will be interesting to see what the new floors are now. I assume it was step up to a new level, but you never know. BTC really seems to be gaining strong institutional support. So BTC was finding support around 30K for the past month, but I wonder if, after breaking past that previous high around 42K if that will now act as the new support level.
Morningstar has BLNK rated as 3 stars - i.e., close or near fair market value.I just shorted this stock.
Apple seems to be close to okaying BTC in transactions. Get your positions in line, may be a wild rise soon. I need to top off Argo and Galaxy today. Breaks my cost basis heart, but I can't keep waiting.Twitter CFO says that they too are considering owning BTC. Says it depends on whether vendors and employees want to use BTC in transactions.
Can you buy Volta yet?Sold a position in a pre merger spac to buy some Volta.
saw it on a Bloomberg article. Chargepoints have 47% and TSLA has 22%.Where were you getting those market share #s?
Also, and this is in my edit above, do you know Chargepoints market share?
I'd wait till it got to that 42ish level at least.Buying day?![]()
Still under the spac's ticker. SNPR. Won't switch over to VLTA for a bit.Can you buy Volta yet?
If Twitter or Apple announces, it won't get down that far for a while. I'm good on GBTC and ETHE as of now, but I will have extra bullets to fire starting on Friday if/when there is a big correction.I'd wait till it got to that 42ish level at least.
I'd actually wait to see if it broke through to the downside first.
not sure that was the takeaway from that interview. To me, he said if it becomes currency, they'll allocate cash position to it. Of course, there is an article out today about the guy who bought 2 pizzas with 10k Bitcoin. Also, Fertitta said they sold 17 cars since 2018 accepting Bitcoin. It's almost like it's own worst enemy.Twitter CFO says that they too are considering owning BTC. Says it depends on whether vendors and employees want to use BTC in transactions.
In response to the Clover Health/Nikola situations I'm sure. Definitely some risk involved.Piece on SPACs in today’s NYT.
Good piece. They sound shady.Piece on SPACs in today’s NYT.
Makes you wonder where it would be if it wasn't tearing itself down.not sure that was the takeaway from that interview. To me, he said if it becomes currency, they'll allocate cash position to it. Of course, there is an article out today about the guy who bought 2 pizzas with 10k Bitcoin. Also, Fertitta said they sold 17 cars since 2018 accepting Bitcoin. It's almost like it's own worst enemy.
Tortoise Acquisition Corp II Ordinary Shares - Class A?Still under the spac's ticker. SNPR. Won't switch over to VLTA for a bit.
They need not be. Jeremy Grantham is in on GS, that went public via SPAC. I'm sure that one is pretty solid.Good piece. They sound shady.
If Twitter or, moreso Apple, were to announce this thing blasts off. Again. If Twitter or Apple announces, it won't get down that far for a while. I'm good on GBTC and ETHE as of now, but I will have extra bullets to fire starting on Friday if/when there is a big correction.
Careful about FOMOApple seems to be close to okaying BTC in transactions. Get your positions in line, may be a wild rise soon. I need to top off Argo and Galaxy today. Breaks my cost basis heart, but I can't keep waiting.
My post was definitely lacking context.not sure that was the takeaway from that interview.
Yes, of course someone with good, honest intentions can make anything work. However, this vehicle is very easy to use for shadiness. Definitely something to be careful with. Do your HW!They need not be. Jeremy Grantham is in on GS, that went public via SPAC. I'm sure that one is pretty solid.
Not liking the lack of volume in Galaxy.Apple seems to be close to okaying BTC in transactions. Get your positions in line, may be a wild rise soon. I need to top off Argo and Galaxy today. Breaks my cost basis heart, but I can't keep waiting.
In my experience, if I like a SPAC, I'll sell right before it merges. I may miss out on some huge gains but the ones I've sold seem to go down after the mergers. I'm all for singles and doubles, not always swinging for the fences.Still under the spac's ticker. SNPR. Won't switch over to VLTA for a bit.
Well, I have 2 phases for my crypto account. Phase 1 is 60% of funding and I would like to get this set-up as soon as possible. Very close to done with this. Phase 2 (40% of funding) will chill on the side and be used if a dip is too good to pass up. It is definitely possible that I never use Phase 2 money. We shall see!Careful about FOMO
I got in on DNMR post merger, and even post initial run, and that one continues to do very well.In my experience, if I like a SPAC, I'll sell right before it merges. I may miss out on some huge gains but the ones I've sold seem to go down after the mergers. I'm all for singles and doubles, not always swinging for the fences.
