Staggering figures. Massive increases from last year. 60-80% inflation from last year.
That confirms what many have been saying about the Big East. Many teams stepped up big time in spending this year. Last year the BE average was said to be $8.0 Million. That's a massive 81% jump in spending from last year. And there are 6 teams in the Top 15 of Transfer Class rankings as a result.
These numbers represent a massive spike in spending across the board. And Seton Hall just falls further behind our peers. Even with our spending jumping by $3-4 Million, it didn't do enough to keep pace. Last year we spent $5-6M when league average was $8.0M. This year we raised to $9-9.5M when the new average is $14.5M.
We are still well below average of all P5 schools in the bottom 10%. Its why we lost all of our players and are again picked to come in 10th place in the BE.
