Only 2 assists? Hmmm is he a point guard?
He’s never been known as a point guard, no idea why someone above said he is Clark’s replacement.

He’s a scoring guard who needs to improve his 3-point shooting.

Payday not a ball handling player with PG intuitiveness and so far can't shoot with clean looks from 3

pretty much sums up about most players nowadays. Either they’re great 3 point shooters and nothing else or they can only do fancy dribble drives and slashing. Doesn’t work over 40 minutes.

Doesn’t ball handle and doesn’t shoot…so what does he do?
He is a sub 6'3" kid that reminds me of an AAU gunner (not in the style of putting up shots but racing decisions in the open court on fast breaks)...had the start of a full court possession where he received a pass got trapped and made a charmin soft pass towards his own basket, turnover. I get spire is top of the line competition...he is a workable project coming in but needs mechanics and fundamentals improvement.

Brewster’s Guard Play Prevails

Two powerhouse programs in Brewster Academy (NH) and Oak Hill (VA) went head to head today, which ended in Brewster sneaking away with a nine-point win. Brewster would see four guards go on to score double-figures, led by junior guard Antonio Pemberton, who put up 19 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists along with 3 steals. Seton Hall commit Darien Moore is the glue that keeps this team together as one of the only seniors in their main core. Moore and sophomore guard Michai White combined for 20 points, 8 assists and 4 steals.

Marcus Kerr plays a huge role for this team as a player who brings a skill set on both ends of the floor. Today his offense was working on all cylinders, as he went for 18 points, 8 rebounds and 3 takeaways. Although this Brewster team may lack the frontcourt size to match up with their opponents, the skill and grit of their guards very much compensates for their lack in rangy athleticism.

Here we go again. For every John Morton (who improved his 3point shooting dramatically between junior and senior season) there are 500 kids who will never be any good from 3. Budd Clark --for all his other gifts-- is one of the 500 and it's a big problem.

We do not need another player that cannot shoot 3s .
Pretty fundamental, right? I love Sha but his blind spot about this is maddening. I still remember his quote last year that 3 point shots are "fool's gold". It is miraculous how he got this team to 14-2 without good offense and even mediocre 3 point shooting. But it's all catching up with us now. I really hope he opens his eyes on the need to get several guys who shoot the three well.

We’ve talked about it since he took over on these boards. His whole viewpoint on offense is bizarre and idk where it comes from. Yet he micromanages it by calling plays and controlling tempo.
