Let me see if I can be a little more clear for your CadaverDawg. Recruits, in general, consider a number of factors when determining the school they will attend and the team for whom they'll play. Those include (but are not necessarily limited to):
- Early Playing Time
- Geographic Proximity
- Family Ties
- Competing for champioships
- "fringe benefits"
- Coaching that can get them to the NFL
- Friends on the team
- etc., etc.
Different players view different factors with various level of importance. For example, Recruit 1 may want to be assured the opportunity to start as a True Freshman which could potentially eliminate certain schools and give others a greater chance to sign that recruit. He may care about early playing time more than any other factor. Conversely, another recruit may only care about joining a program that will compete for championships and maximize his chances of getting to the NFL. Similarly, this will eliminate certain teams while elevating others.
My point is, based upon my opinion formed by reading information put out all over the place, that if Robert Nkemdiche decides to play at Ole Miss then it is because family ties (playing with his brother) is more important to him than any other factor. Can Ole Miss offer value in other categories? Some. Can other schools offer greater value in the other categories? Yes, in many of them--especially including "fringe benefits" (which is the basis for this entire thread). Therefore I have come to what I feel is a reasonable conclusion that if Robert Nkemdiche goes to Ole Miss it's basically 100% because of his brother. If he doesn't, it's because a combination of other factors were more important and valuable to him than playing with his brother.
