Apparently you can overcome the altitude advantage by pinning your opponent and ending the match early.
Two years ago (2023-24 season), Kasak started the season at 141 and moved up to 149 when SVN got hurt. Kasak was clearly better at 149, but it was up one weight class, whereas Desmond is up two (125 to 141).

PSU's latest bow & arrow master is eyeing up his target. Time for a bullseye! Circling, hand fighting & tying up. Davis with some fakes. Levi reaches, but can't get there. Levi reaches again, but finds the same result as before. PSU clinched the dual with the last win. More circling, hand fighting & tying up. Levi presses forward, then drops to an ankle, but can't finish. Davis gets a stall warning. Levi shoots & gets in deep on a leg, then collects the other & finishes the TD, 3-0. Levi throws a boot in & gets Davis bellied out. Let's see the bow & arrow Levi!!! He tries a suck back, but Davis squirms free for the escape, 3-1. Levi shoots & quickly finishes another TD, 6-1. Levi gets Davis bellied out again & is hammering on him from top. Levi throws in a leg & looks for a turn, but isn't getting swipes, yet. Davis looks to be in pain. Levi gets the swipes & adds 4 NF, 14-1. Davis bellies out. Levi hits another turn & adds 4 NF more for the 18-1 TECH!!! Another bonus point victory!

It was actually a good strategy, stall for 2 periods, drag Rocco into the 3rd at altitude.

Yeah, his leg very clearly buckled pretty badly during his own shot. He's going to have a bum leg I'm afraid, but hopefully it will be minor. Barr due to come back shortly anyway, but you hate to see that. It's also a shame because Connor had some nice shots early and looked to be in pretty good shape, even knowing he'd likely be down 1-0 early in the 3rd.
Yes. Cael May in fact let Nate Desmond and Aaron N have a wrestle off. Nate just seems too short for the 141 better guys. Will see
Desmond weighed in at 138 ... I don't see how he can be an effective 141 this year.
