Pitt fans saying the stadium had about 45,000 to 55,000 fans for the Youngstown State game. All of them
must of want to the bathroom or concession stand at halftime. Every game is a Yellow Seat game. Dress up
as a Yellow Seat.. Pitt sucks. Can't even draw 25,000 if they wanted to

Pitt fans are so stupid that the ones with tickets to the upper deck did not have the sense to look for a seat in the lower deck once the game started.

The amazing thing is that if all the people in the upper deck actually moved to the lower deck it (lower deck) would still be more than half empty.

I really don't understand why anyone would want to renew a series with this collapsing program. Just write Pitt off and forget about 'em.

As lomng as they can count tickets sold...they will always say they had that many and more. I saw pictures from the game on the local news and saw a Lot of empty seats....I think they count all the ones they sell and the ones the university and businesses buy....They will always exaggerate their numbers.

Their ticket stubs have a coupon on the back for a free chocolate shake at Wendy's that is only good during halftime was the reason I was told the stadium looks empty in this shot.

Well, what do you expect when it comes to sPitt fans? Lying is something normal for them to do. That is something fans who are in denial consistently do.

I saw where they were saying that the seats were empty because a lot of the fans were trying to keep cool.

"There were a lot more people sitting in the seats say five minutes into the game than there were at any point in time after that. A lot of people around us, including some in my group, went back out of the seating area to get out of the sun pretty regularly. Four hours sitting on those yellow seats in the sun did get a little warm."

Wow.

What's really sad is that these fabrications are nothing more than an attempt to deceive recruits into believing that Pitt is "big time" football.

I remember when Temple used to be the PA school with embarrassing crowds, and Pitt had a rivalry with PSU. Now they've completely switched places.

An empty Stadium might be part of the reason that ROOT SPORTS doesn't want to cover Pitt games. Their ticket prices are cheap and alumni buy them to support the school, but have no intention of going to the game. Interest in Pitt football is very low.

When they struggle against the likes of Duke, you know they're in trouble. They're more a bball school now than a football one... They'll fit well in the Aye Shee Shee

I know people who have season tickets to sPitt games. They are required to have football season tickets to be eligible for basketball tickets. -- if that is not the definition of a basketball school, I don't know what is -- They buy the football tickets and just give them away. Hell, last year (on the way down to Morgantown for a game) I stopped at a crowded Starbucks. Someone had laid 2 tickets to the Pitt game on the counter for free. There were NO TAKERS! It has gotten that bad. They are a dead program walking.

Wasn't it Bob Smizik who wrote a piece last season that questioned what in the heck was going on with Pitt football?

He needs to do another one focusing on their bogus attendance statistics.

Pitt is one of only a few schools that report ticket sales and not turnstile. They sell bulk tickets to companies and donors for a nickle and they count them as butts in seats BEFORE a game has even started.

Pathetic....

Pitt. fans aren't lying at all. They know what the deal is. If you go to their board , one of the biggest topics is how to get butts in seats and keep them there for the entire game. The Pitt. brass are the ones who let or even promote the inflated numbers in football attendance. One of their posters said that you have to have season tickets for football to be eligible for season tickets in basketball. That seems a little odd to me.

If you pay more than "free" for Pitt football tickets then you have paid too much.

That is not fair, I don't think they are liars, they just can't read, write, or add.

This is 100% confirmed. I know guys who do this and the football tickets are just considered the cost of going to basketball games.
