The media will be more upset and ask 40 times more questions about a meme than they will when an American gets killed by an illegal. Vance is the happy warrior here making them look stupid:

"I saw one of the major TV stations put the meme up and say 'this is AI generated,' and he had the curly, animated mustache too"

"Do you not realize that the American people recognize he did not actually come to the White House wearing a sombrero and a black, curly, animated mustache? Give the country a little bit of credit!"

If either of those things are true, then it would void his contract. If he didn't have permission and did so, and if it specified he couldn't talk to anyone. If he had Barnhart's permission, and I would think he did given the split among the fans, then the it doesn't matter.

Jfyi though Barnhart, like all ADs, talks to people to gage interest all the time. Imo, if they had grounds and had the right coach lined up, they'd have moved on by now, regardless of his previous record here prior to 2023). I hope they have great options available and lined up for this off-season, because this OC is not going to get it done.

We just have to hope that teams at traditional football schools that have coaches on the hot seat get much better before the season ends. To get a good coach we'll have to pay at least as much as we're paying Stoops. To get a great coach we'll likely have to match Smart's salary at Georgia (11M).
The coaching carousel was fairly tame and small last year, but it's going to be pretty big this year with a lot of high profile jobs already available. Barnhart needs to get on the bandwagon fast, unless he's got a pretty solid gentleman's agreement with Sumrall knowing that, like Pope, he would spurn all others to come coach his alma mater. If not him, call number two needs to go to Will Stein. I know he's a Louisville grad and would likely use us as a stepping stone, but his daddy played for UK so he has ties to the state that might pry him from Oregon. Brohm isn't going anywhere for a while, so We would be the next best scenario for him if he wants to be closer to family. (I used to work for his uncle many years ago too). I think unless something miraculous happens, we can't afford to NOT fire Stoops despite the buyout, which will get taken care of somehow. We will lose more revenue than the buyout will cost us. Boy that Survey UK put out last week was certainly ill-timed.

Sorry I'm playing some catchup, was gone to a conference the last few days. In DC of all places.

Just catching up on the thread .. turned it off after the fumble return by SC .. that was so Kentucky
UK fans deserve something better than this .. Stoops has done all he can at UK and while some of it was decent, he's not capable of turning it around at this point
When I took that stupid "how much are you willing to let us fleece you more" survey that UK put out, I referred many times to the product on the field needing to improve, and I closed it with "Unless you improve the product on the field, all of these new upgrades and amenities will be for naught."

Except there is no clause that says he can't be dismissed later for something that happened years ago or has been ongoing. Patterns of behavior for instance.

Hard to know since he's not said.

?

Maybe you're thinking I'm only talking about the OC, here. Not sure. I'm talking about HC in that paragraph. Changing HC would matter.

If they have a decent agent, theyd be stupid not to do that. Can say the same thing for Bamas coach and others across the country.

If you're the ugly guy with a better looking twin brother, and a bunch of good looking athletic friends, you BETTER bring some other attribute that is more than everyone else brings to the relationship. Like it or not, UK Football is the ugly brother to UK Basketball and in a football conference with more than a dozen teams with more success than them.

You HAVE TO PAY MORE for the players and coaches than the rest of the conference if you want to truly compete long term. Until then expect not to go any higher in the pecking order than you're willing to spend to get there. Take the Ls.

Let's face the facts- Kentucky fans want a dollar store miracle cure. So does everyone else. The difference is that Bama, Georgia, and the rest of the conference all know that football doesn't work that way. They don't all complain about NIL, higher ticket prices, or licensing fees because they know it's part of the battle. EVERY dollar increase is a root canal to UK fans when it comes to football. Lol

If you want success you have to invest. You can't just ***** and complain because Bama is Bama, and UF is UF, etc etc etc. When you have success you need to celebrate it and THEN throw more money at it to take it to the next level. If everyone had done that, Stoops would've already moved on and the fans that complained would've already had a new coach.

Instead they griped and moaned through 2 ten win seasons. They need to own that and not only decide but follow through on doing better if it ever comes around again. People shouldn't complain if they're not willing to do better. It's just hypocritical bs.
Yes, but Conversely, you can't be asking fans about a bunch of new stadium amenities when you're headed towards one of the worst seasons since Joker Phillips last year. Timing was awful on that survey. You put that out when you have that jolt of renewed energy after hiring a new coach. Kinda like UK announcing Basketball facility upgrades after Pope more or less proved he's gonna do just fine here.

I applaud the GOP for standing firm (so far) with the healthcare for illegals, but in reality, no telling how many use the ER as an office visit per say.
The ER will not turn them away so therefore the taxpayers are still funding their medical cost. Hospitals and doctors have to raise their cost, which our insurances pay creating higher premiums to us.
Agreed, as long as a hospital is forced to treat a non-citizen, this problem doesn’t really get solved.

Hello? Is anyone out there? Is the world still turning? Did the sun still rise? Is everyone managing to survive amidst the dreaded government shutdown?
I made it through TSA at Regan this morning just fine, my flight was on time. That's about all I got.

Was on a moonlight Trolly tour of DC with a group from the Conference is was at and we rolled up on an intersection that was all blocked for a motorcade. We sat there for a few and it went through, several motorcycles, 203 vans, more police cars, Couple of ambulances, couple of tow trucks, about 6-7 of the black SUV limos, more motorcycles, more police cars. I took a video on my phone, and when i watched it back, I wasn't sure if it was Trump or not. We were on the street that runs between the Ellipse and the Whitehouse, the motorcade was going south on 15th St. It was about 9:30 at night. But I didn't recognize one of the SUV's as the Beast. don't they typically put flags on it? Could have been Vance or maybe Netanyahu too.

Thanks for replying…and not only that, at whatever entry level, visa holders typically will take less. After all, they don’t have insane student loans to pay back in order to subsidize Calcutta State’s DEI program.
"The $100,000 fee is a de facto tax on hiring skilled foreign workers in the U.S., and the transparent goal is to price them out of the market. Companies hire foreigners because there aren’t enough Americans graduating from U.S. colleges with the right technical skills. International students account for 71% of the full-time graduate students (who pay full tuition) in computer and information sciences. Tesla filed 658 visa applications for manufacturing engineers in 2024, a skill set that isn’t taught at many elite U.S. colleges.

The order claims that companies abuse the H-1B program to hire cheap foreign workers who take the jobs of U.S.-born workers and suppress their wages. But Congress has restricted H-1B visas to 85,000 a year, and demand has exceeded the quota for the last 20 years. Employers filed 442,000 applications this year, five times the limit, and a lottery is held each year to allocate the visas. Some 30,000 employers were approved last year for at least one new H-1B visa, which shows the broad demand.

There’s scant evidence that foreign workers are taking U.S. jobs. Between 2003 and 2024, U.S.-born employment in STEM occupations increased by three million, according to the National Foundation for American Policy. The unemployment rate for computer and math occupations was 3% and 1.4% for architecture and engineering last month, both lower than a year ago.

The White House ignores that employers are required to pay visa holders the higher of the prevailing wage or actual wage paid to comparable U.S. workers. So there’s no financial incentive to hire foreign workers. An analysis by Glassdoor found that salaries for “foreign H-1B workers are about 2.8 percent higher than comparable U.S. salaries” (I.e., not lower wages.) on the job-search platform.

As for DHS’s lottery proposal, wealthy companies that can afford to pay foreign workers more will be at an advantage over startups. If companies aren’t allowed to hire foreign workers in the U.S. because they are too expensive, they’ll go abroad. There will be fewer startups and less innovation. This will not help the U.S. in the AI race with China."

There's a 164M employed people in the US. 85K is 0.05% !! of that total. Pretty dam small.

You find it hard to believe these Companies aren’t completely honest about the jobs they are bringing in if it saves money and get more qualified people?
As I posted just above, companies are required to pay H1-B people as much or more than they pay American workers. Are companies completely honest on this you ask. Are they are anything? What about everyone on here on everything?

I like that we have a VP who is actively helping our President in making the government run vs. throwing back shots.
