Stoops has had a history of being a poor HC at UK, even w/ the 2 years that were an anomaly. Dismal SEC record; collapses in the second half of seasons; yearly issues w/ discipline; turnover rate of assistants; zero continuity from one year to the next.......just to name a few issues. He was a poor hire from day 1 and the last few years have simply been icing on the cake.
The SEC is winnable now for teams like UK since NIL was instituted. There aren’t any super teams anymore, the playing field has leveled due to NIL. However, you can’t have a coach that plays not to lose, instead of to win.

"They want to put my SON in JAIL for something they MADE UP! [...] And they say, he will serve the rest of his life in prison!" "These are sick, BAD people!"

haha 'tell him it's terminated Jennifer"

"Russel Vought is TERMINATING tremendous numbers of Democrat projects! Not only jobs, but projects." "Project in NY that's BILLIONS that Schumer worked 20 years to get. IT'S TERMINATED. Tell him it's terminated, Jennifer."

"But I think he's losing IQ points with time. I think that happens. I hope it hasn't happened with me. I know if it DID, you guys would let me know about it very quickly."

Showing a clown the best places to hide a body doesn't sound like a good idea, but that's just me.

You've just been awarded a 2025 "Clownie" DM me so I know where to send the award, which, as always, is a check for 69 cents and a suitable for framing (once printed) PDF certificate. :ROFLMAO:

That isn't even close to accurate. You may get some second tier players at UK due to NIL and the occasional 5*, but w/ OK and TX now in the mix, UK has fell further down the rope. Kids are still going to pick the sexy school and have the best chance to get to the league.

Bama, UGA, Florida, OK, TX, LSU.......UK isn't sniffing this. Throw in Ole Miss as long as Kiffin is there.

"Clownies" are given for "comedic achievement" every, well not necessarily given every year.

Kentucky isn't one dimensional. Kentucky is schizophrenic under this OC. Was the same with Scang. Both OCs don't know how to use the run. Once they had some success, they went away from it, because THAT was what they wanted to run. It's endemic to coaching. Almost EVERY coach in the world does this.

Happens in soccer, football, basketball. Tubby fell victim to it. Cal, too. This OC is no different. After he runs a balanced series, he reverts to 3 straight passing plays and our offense stagnates. He rarely gets that rhythm back. He's afraid to run the ball on 2nd and long, and some of his 1st down plays take too long to develop.

Like Scangarello, he gets cute with stupid sht when it's unnecessary. Just run the ball and pass the ball. There are a ton of plays and routes (route trees) we can run. We aren't coming close to utilizing what's available.

We are predictable. You can sometimes be predictable and still be successful, IF you run varied or uptempo, and/or have the D worn down. You don't wear the D down by running most of your pass plays behind the LOS.

I know you know all of this, I'm just venting. I don't understand how OCs seem to always get stuck in a rut, doing only this or that when variation can be their best friend.
here for ya brother....

it says my opinion is FB is the greatest, but many other Kentuckians, for generations, love BB first.
I don't fault them, i like uk hoops too.
Football as a whole is my favorite sport BUT UK basketball trumps all. Most likely why 80% (my guess only) of posters on this site are here in the first place.

The talent is diluted now. There is no elite teams in the SEC now, there aren’t any in any league. They used to stack 5* players on top of each other , that ain’t happening now.
Mizzou and Bama game could’ve gone either way. Indiana is a legit title contender after making the playoffs last year.
Texas Tech very well could win the title this year.

The ceiling for UK Football is, always HAS been, and for the foreseeable future, remains at consistent winning seasons. In this environment that means SEVEN wins. 6 and 6 plus and bowl win don't count.

That is exceedingly difficult, when you consider that you only get 3 "automatic" wins a year now.

Let's be generous, and say that you split, on average, with UL. You need to average 3.5 SEC wins per year.

Look up how many times, in the last 60 years, Kentucky has won more than 3 SEC games in a season.

(it's 11 times. for a whopping 18 percent.)

Correction (based on my research and not AI's) it's actually NINE times. For a dismal and uninspiring FIFTEEN percent.

And only 8 seasons, if you don't count the vacated 2021 wins, for an even worse THIRTEEN percent.

Patel: “We are looking at so many different leads on criminal activity by those who are in positions of power… These indictments that you’ve seen, and the ones that you’re going to see coming up here in this near future, are just the beginning… Everybody’s like it’s been 7 months, what have you been doing? Well they spent 20 years building this diseased temple of corruption. It takes a little bit of time to defeat it and beat it down.”

I went to probably 20 Kentucky football games as a kid during the Bill Curry era. That was my introduction to UK football. That included the Peach Bowl when Marty Moore fumbled the interception when all he had to do was fall to the ground for the win.

To this day, the worst cursing I have ever heard out of my dad was yelling at Elliot Uzelac.

Let us hope not. It would be an enormous distraction from the domestic successes. Teddy Roosevelt could swing the big stick down there because he didn’t have an invasion of Muslims and illegals on his hands and a traitorous opposition party at home. Stick to the basics, Donald.

My father unleashed a torrent of obscenities when Cris Collinsworth caught a disputed pass down the sideline that set up a winning Florida FG in 1980. The Clown's jaw had to be picked up off the ground.

I met Collinsworth in Cincy one time in the late 2000's while standing in line at First Watch, and shared that story with him. He got a big kick out of it (of course), and picked up the tab for me and my wife. LOL

The Bluegrass Miracle though... THAT was when I really started to think that my Dad and I should start thinking about not attending games anymore. LOL The old man... well; I'd never seen him that dis-heartened.
