Kentucky isn't one dimensional. Kentucky is schizophrenic under this OC. Was the same with Scang. Both OCs don't know how to use the run. Once they had some success, they went away from it, because THAT was what they wanted to run. It's endemic to coaching. Almost EVERY coach in the world does this.
Happens in soccer, football, basketball. Tubby fell victim to it. Cal, too. This OC is no different. After he runs a balanced series, he reverts to 3 straight passing plays and our offense stagnates. He rarely gets that rhythm back. He's afraid to run the ball on 2nd and long, and some of his 1st down plays take too long to develop.
Like Scangarello, he gets cute with stupid sht when it's unnecessary. Just run the ball and pass the ball. There are a ton of plays and routes (route trees) we can run. We aren't coming close to utilizing what's available.
We are predictable. You can sometimes be predictable and still be successful, IF you run varied or uptempo, and/or have the D worn down. You don't wear the D down by running most of your pass plays behind the LOS.
I know you know all of this, I'm just venting. I don't understand how OCs seem to always get stuck in a rut, doing only this or that when variation can be their best friend.
