Uh, just no on the Kenny Payne. KP was a lost ball in high weeds from day one. Pope got us to the Sweet 16 last year and beat some damn good teams along the way, all with a roster built from scratch at the last minute and having to deal with crucial injuries for most of the season. So he has far and away more coaching ability than Kenny Payne. I think this is actually a case of going overboard and spending too much trying to build the deepest roster in history to counter the injury issues he faced in year one. Now he has a locker room issue, with too many alpha dogs who want to be the guy, and there's infighting. So what's really going to test his meddle is if he can get those guys on the same page.

I think he should just put the five best offensive players as the starters, and go with it. The canned response to that is that the defense will suffer, but considering what our defensive stoppers have accomplished, how much worse could it be? And at least with 5 scorers out there we stand a better chance of keeping up. Just my admittedly limited basketball knowledge 2 cents. For sure though, Oweh and Garrison should be pulled. They are absolute dead weight right now.

I hope they pat him down before he gets anywhere near Trump. You never know when someone like that decides to be a martyr. Jus sayin

Just read more sent to me about Ishti.

It is not a Hindu deity but a ritual celebrating devotion to the deity Vishnu primarily. Things associated with the Ishti rituals deal with ancestor worship, sexuality and gender, and some of the themes of the festival is seeking (ishti) fulfillment of desires and the removal of obstacles. Some sects of the religion consider their supreme deity to be both male and female. The priests officiating this regional celebration (from which Mamdani's ancestors come) were often transvestites.

Why bring Richie Farmer into this?

@notFromhere - I thought he was Muslim. I must be missing something here. re: Vishnu and what not. Hindu btw has always seemed kind of like a "these are really just guidelines/best practices" kind of religion to me. It's mostly about the parties. Sucks about the no cheeseburgers though. They literally are a terrorist organization, probably not very difficult to trace where much of their money comes from and goes to and that will be directly to Terrorist organizations. If they are in our country openly calling for an Intifada or Jihad, then they are straight up terrorists.

Upon reflection, the answer to this occurred to me. By the time the actual details of this became known I believe the statute of limitations had expired. They BARELY got the current charges, lying to Congress, in under the deadline. Wasn't this considered a Hail Mary from the start though? From a legal standpoint?

@Lost In FL - I don't know exactly why, but Jesus getting annoyed with the apostles gives me a happy/warm feeling inside. Annoyed Jesus is my favorite one. Makes him, to me anyway, more relatable. :ROFLMAO:

I wonder if he ever thought of bringing Peter and Thomas in and saying, "Have you all considered a career in say, retail or maybe learning a trade? I could probably get you on at my brother's furniture business."

Avoiding/delaying prosecutions was on of the main reasons why they needed to steal the election. ...and the administration just let them do it.

My thinking on it is that it is a fraud and treason to fabricate cause for a warrant to spy on a duly elected president. There shouldn't be any limitations on prosecution for that. The lying about it to congress should've EXTENDED any limitations timeline because it was part and parcel of the same fraud, which in this case was ALSO a conspiracy among a group of people from Clinton, the law firm, Comey, and quite a few others.

maybe because he gets just as frustrated with us? IDK about you all, but i do stuff that would frustrate him every day. and that is relatable.

the fact that he could be so frustrated with them and still go through what he went through ... that is encouraging for us.

I KNOW that it's not about "behaving/earning your way" into salvation, but I still can't shake the nagging feeling that there is a "file" on me, and that it requires a dolly just to bring it up from the records room.

Chock full of photographic evidence, affidavits, phone records, transcripts, victim statements and such. :ROFLMAO:

Quoting Bible verses is not using the Bible for anything other than to point out the wickedness of Trump's immigration policy and the hypocrisy of it all in juxtaposition to the Christmas season and immigrant baby Jesus.
Closing your eyes and ears to it doesn't make it ok. These are human beings with wives, children and loved ones who count on them to make a living. It is not what Jesus would do and you know it in your heart of hearts.
These are the words of God and Jesus...not me.

Matthew 25:40---Jesus says, "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me".

Leviticus 19:33-34
  • "When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner living with you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God".

This is an ignorant, emotionally manipulative argument with no merit whatsoever. I'm tellin' you man, the God you don't believe in is real and you will regret this exploitive, regurgitated nonsense one day. Be real. You and your party don't give two chits of an eff about these poor people, only that you can exploit them for political and financial gain.

Yep. If hes not focused on winning anything in March, he absolutely should.

After the loss to GTown, he said directly that they were going to focus on defense for a while, and considering how the defense played, they needed to. I'm not sure why anyone would be surprised at our poor shooting and poor defense while we are doing that.

Neither Oweh nor Garrison looked this lost at the end of last year. I think it's a combination of things we can't see because we aren't at practice and aren't in the locker room. Professional coaching is not as simple as everyone thinks it is, and this is no longer amateur athletics.

It's possible Pope is too cerebral as a coach, and maybe not as well-suited for the changes money has made to college basketball. It's possible he thought he could shape a team from clay with too much grog and organic material, and it just won't stick together and can't vitrified.

For my part, Pope is going to get a LOT more runway than most coaches would because of his relationship to the program and the way he treats the fans, I still think he'll learn the lessons he needs to, to succeed here.

One small thing in his defense, when you have to bring THIS many players in via the portal, it's a bigger risk. You don't really get to know the players like you would when you've been recruiting them for a few years while in HS. So, it's easier to pick up some crappy attitudes.

There IS one thing though; a longer leash aside, he's gotta clean up the attitude etc. postgame after a tough loss. Struggling while you learn is one thing, but you have to take it like a man. That isn't optional.

His parents are both Indian. His mother's family is from Gujarat, where the Ishti festival is very important. His father is of Indian descent but is himself from Mumbai. The state/region of Gujarat is bordered by Pakistan and the Arabian Sea.

Someone mentioned prostitution relative to the new mayor-
Even though prostitution is illegal in India, it is common, and lower caste women of these regions will become sex workers after marriage and childbirth to support their families. It is of course very common in Islamic countries just as it's becoming common in western countries as some immigrants groom young girls to enter the sex trade in the EU and US.

WE HAVE NO IDEA what we have imported for our children to have to survive, and we are moving quickly towards a caste system ourselves. That's the entire point of driving housing costs through the roof and making financial survival more and more difficult.

What if they are an organization founded by terrorists and they are in our country openly calling for the death, deplatforming, or bankruptcy of people who question or are critical of them? Are they then not terrorists? There are so many different countries and groups with their influences and infiltrators changing our govt and our systems on every level. Shouldn't they all be treated as foreign invaders that are a threat to our existence as a republic?

His take is anecdotal, though. Not every teacher is experiencing this anomaly. I’m sure he has Hispanics and I bet some or most are here illegally, but I don’t think that number is 1:5 kids in the district are illegal.
I think you underestimate just how many illegals came through that border during the Biden Admin and before when Trumps hands were tied on doing anything about it. Conservative estimates of over 20 million. You realize that number is larger than the population of all but two states. Divvy those up amongst the major cities and you're putting 10's if not hundreds of thousands of illegals throughout all the major cities in America, so yeah, I believe it. My Wife's cousin teaches either first or second grade, can't recall which, in JCPS, and talks about how she has kids dropped in her classroom at random times, that can't speak a lick of english. Of course she's also all about the whole woke agenda, rainbow flags, BLM, tranny and pride nonsense in the classrooms too.

Absolutely. Especially when not all of the people were your first choice.

That guy up in Indiana ... that coach that ran out on the floor during a game, was also a homegrown sort of alum turned coach, wasn't he? He also had some issues with post game pressers. It's very different when you're FROM HERE than when you had just COME HERE. That goes for every place, I think.

This job is TOUGH. No question. The scrutiny is brutal. The leash is short. The expectations are ridiculous. And every game is a must win with this fanbase.

Most of the left in this country have experienced true Socialism and it's policies primarily as an ideal, a lofty ambition. I think you'll find that when they have to actually LIVE under it, they'll quickly become disillusioned with it. Much like young adults tend to become more conservative when they start paying taxes. That's why Republican voter registrations are outpacing Dem registrations in heavily blue areas.

@notFromhere - The IU coach you're thinking of was Mike Davis.

"We will eat your shawarma in Somalia, OK?" "They are looking to destroy everything that makes America great." "We have been taken over without a single shot fired! You will never eat like us, build buildings like us." "We know your laws in your book about lying to our faces. Pretending to be Americans, wearing your suits - but that doesn't happen anywhere else you guys are in charge." "There are 53 Muslim-majority countries. No chit. He will coach here next year. He wants to be here. From the horses’ mouth
I think him coming back would be akin to Napier at Florida, Pittman at Arkansas, among a number of others that have been canned mid-season. He would be a lame duck. I'm not sure what he sells to recruits. I appreciate all Stoops did for this program, I want the divorce to be amicable and hope one day we can bring him back and put his name in the ring of honor. Which is why I hope somebody out there takes a flyer on him. Even though we've had this little resurgence of sorts, This year hasn't really gone down much differently than a number of other frustrating seasons. At least two games lost because of coaching decisions, a total clunker against a South Carolina team that was very beatable. Typical year in and year out issues we see. How does that get corrected in year 14?

Agreed, but with cutter Boley, Barnhart, and the Craft Family In your corner, he’s staying. And he wants to stay, which came as a surprise to me.

if he loses out he still likely staying. If he beats either Louisville or Vandy, it’s 100% Guaranteed take it to the bank he staying.

From what I hear, he’s staying, whether he goes five and seven or six and six and to reiterate he really wants to come back next year

I don't disagree with this. It will reach a point where he can't please everybody and the rotation tightened down to those who want to win and who show they want to be there. If that means Oweh is benched, so be it.

You won't catch any flak from me over that. And there are enough plant based sources of protein now that I would think meat isn't a necessity like it once was. It's not for me, but it's not even debatable that, from a resource standpoint, raising livestock is exponentially less efficient.

It is still necessary, and plants don't provide all of the nutrients that meat does. No single food source does.

Efficiency is a great trigger word. Like climate change. It's more efficient on a small scale and seasonally. But providing it year round and processing it is only more efficient when the researchers don't take into account every factor.

Same goes for lab grown meat.

What it is is more profitable. More controllable. It limits self-sufficiency. Dependency is the key to everything.

No one factors in that the amount of water needed to produce a cow comes naturally and is replaced naturally, where most produce that goes into meat alternatives requires the expensive processing of large amounts of water. Some of the produce used also isn't as nutrient dense as produce should be because of how and where it is grown.

My neighbor never needs to water his cattle. He feeds them during the winter supplementally from hay he grows elsewhere on property he'd have to mow regardless of whether he owned cattle. I don't believe much could be more efficient than raising grazing cattle.

We need to require 2 years of unassisted service in a socialist country for liberals. They must support themselves without any assistance. Then they can return from Venezuela, London, or Dearborn, Michigan to America.

In the portal era I think you really to vet these players a lot more than previously. That would include a complete background check where you talk to ex coaches teammates and teachers if need be.
