Your troll game is deteriorating. I expect a better effort than thisI wish we had started the RAC renovation/replacement job this year. There has been little to no home court advantage since the team can't score and most fans understandably get bored by halftime.
When the renovations do start, I hope we will build extra comfortable seats reserved for football recruits at the bottom of the student section. We need to catch up with the other B1G schools that take care of their future athletes.
Did you listen to Hobb's interview and his comment on not having to leave the RAC for renovations?Do the best possible job on renovating the RAC. Losing one season of home games is meaningless in the big picture. Plus, this year's team didn't even play well at home. We should announce that the 2024-25 season's games will be played elsewhere and then get started as soon as next season is over. Do this right!

I am happy to say I was wrong. Everything I heard from people who know, said RU was going to be shutting down the RAC for a year. Sounds like the plans may change or shift if the renovation is reduced or done in multiple off seasons.Thankfully Hobbs has stated they are doing everything possible to avoid leaving the RAC for a season. But troll on.
Some only listened to part where he said stand up. LolDid you listen to Hobb's interview and his comment on not having to leave the RAC for renovations?
exactlyIf MSG can be renovated without losing a season for the Knicks or Rangers then we can do it at RU. Year 1 build the exterior structures to expand the entrance and concourse, including bathrooms etc. Year 2 work on the interior seating
You are comparing a $100M Reno with a $5B Reno. You can do anything for $5B.If MSG can be renovated without losing a season for the Knicks or Rangers then we can do it at RU. Than let’s compare the Alumni Hall one instead. You are comparing a $100M Reno with a $5B Reno. You can do anything for $5B.
OkYou are comparing a $100M Reno with a $5B Reno. You can do anything for $5B.
That (assuming you mean Assembly Hall) might be a real comparison. The one that made most sense to me was Cincinnati. It is very similar to what Rutgers was proposing. The major difference between the RAC and Assembly Hall is RU wants to add the bowl concourse around the arena. That’s is a major construction job and that may need to change if they don’t want to shut down for a year.Than let’s compare the Alumni Hall one instead.
But the Hoosiers never left. That might be a real comparison. The one that made most sense to me was Cincinnati. It is very similar to what Rutgers was proposing.
This took 18 months and they played at Northern Kentucky while it was being renovated.
You’re missing the point. Adding a bowl concourse is a huge job. Much different than Indiana. They may have to scrap that part if they don’t want to shut down. But the Hoosiers never left.
And I don’t like this part of the Cincinnati reno…
“The project would reduce the amount of seating,…”
Also, where they ended up playing was only like 3 miles away.
FYI - Northwestern closed their arena for 18 months for the reno.I think Hobbs referenced the Northwest reno as a blueprint they may follow
I like 118 better nowSame fans who so take away from the atmosphere like the often half empty 118. Penny wise, pound foolish.
Is that what the renderings actually show? Seems like Cincy still have sliders on the sidelines. You’re missing the point. Adding a bowl concourse is a huge job. Much different than Indiana. They may have to scrap that part if they don’t want to shut down.
Same here. But it could be better for the reno…hopefully that area is where most of the changes happen.I like 118 better now
The renderings do show a bowl but I don’t think it will look anything like those renderings. The work outside is most likely very easy to complete without interruption. Is that what the renderings actually show? Seems like Cincy still have sliders on the sidelines.
Indiana did a ton of work out front which I assume is what we plan to do. Or is that going to be on the side now?
Yeah, Hobbs said on the TKR podcast that those renderings were "conceptual" in nature, not necessarily what will end up being built. The renderings do show a bowl but I don’t think it will look anything like those renderings. The work outside is most likely very easy to complete without interruption.
Flow is hopefully being considered as a top thing to be changed. The renderings do show a bowl but I don’t think it will look anything like those renderings. The work outside is most likely very easy to complete without interruption.
MSG reno cost $1B. Not $5B.You are comparing a $100M Reno with a $5B Reno. You can do anything for $5B.
Correct, $1.19B. The $5B number is in my head because that’s was the estimated cost to replace MSG / Penn station.MSG reno cost $1B. Not $5B.
Your handle implies you graduate in 2024...of course you are fine with the RAC being shutdown the following seasonDo the best possible job on renovating the RAC. Not a great example. The MSG renovation was one of the most expensive renovations anywhere, ever - $1.2 BILLION. For that price, the could do anything. If MSG can be renovated without losing a season for the Knicks or Rangers then we can do it at RU. Year 1 build the exterior structures to expand the entrance and concourse, including bathrooms etc. Year 2 work on the interior seating

Exactly. And just because Hobbs says the “goal” is to not leave the RAC means nothing. He’s just hedging. The team could and should leave the RAC for a year to make sure this project gets done correctly. Who cares about one season if it means we get a huge facility upgrade that will help recruiting and the university itself? The whiners should think bigger.FYI - Northwestern closed their arena for 18 months for the reno.
I would be there for those! Walking distance! How about some smaller games at Boardwalk Hall in AC
Maybe a game or 2 in AC. I believe It’s too far away for most of their fan base. I think Newark and or Trenton would be the most logical location for most games. Maybe a game or 2 at MSG would also workNewark for the B1G games...How about some smaller games at Boardwalk Hall in AC

Do it in the off season and make it a 2-year project if you have to. I agree that we must play our home games here.Do it in the offseason
Start the day after the season, ask the B1G for help scheduling conference opponents next year to later in the year if possible (if things look meh during Central CT state, who cares)
It's not difficult. More costly, yes. But it can, and needs to be done, this way. End of story
Hobbs wasn't hedging. Two off-seasons consist of 17-18 months. Much can get done in a 8 1/2-9-month stretch.Exactly. And just because Hobbs says the “goal” is to not leave the RAC means nothing. If we could get a top 3 class, I vote for that and have the renovation a year or two afterI’m not sure what’s bigger than potentially having a top 3 class in 2024 with some guys who only stay one year and giving up the RAC to play at some other random building.
Whiners? Haha.
People missed that part. lol. The goal.Exactly. And just because Hobbs says the “goal” is to not leave the RAC means nothing. He’s just hedging.
