I didn't think that either. Until midway during the conference season, minus that one blowout at UConn.

I picked Conn to win the league in the preseason, but clearly Pitino has done the better job with his team.

Maybe I have too much blind faith in Uconn, but I still don't think that. SJU gets the wrong refereeing crew in the dance, and it will be a problem. No different than the Huggins teams of the past, or another team that defended like us this year. Just like last year when they would have survived an awful game from the BE POY had Richmond not been limited to less than half the game with questionable foul trouble. I think Uconn's shooters are too strong to stay in a prolonged slump, whereas I don't trust SJU's shooters. Kansas is going to be a really difficult game for SJU -- it is basically a road game with how Kansas will travel to that venue compared to the SJU fan base; Kansas can match their physicality; they have a great coach in Self, loads of talent obviously, and a guard that probably is going 1 in the draft this spring and is considered by some to be the best NBA prospect coming out of college in a decade.

Maybe normal UConn with normal shooting from Ball and Mullins, but the lid was closed on them yesterday. Couldn't buy a 3. On a night like that I think UConn and St. Johns, who normally can't shoot either, are neck and neck. If Uconn is hitting shots, I think they are still more dangerous.

I’ve said that UCONN’s perimeter over the past three weeks has deteriorated. Nothing last night changed my mind. Take away Karaban‘s insane shooting against SHU on senior night, he’s been bad. Ball is lost. Hope that changes and Demary returns.

I was glad that referenced Wilt when discussing the crazy mid half stats Reed had amassed. Was disappointed no mention of Frank Selvy, the only D1 player to ever score 100 in a D1 game, 2 time AA for Furman in the 50s and a solid player for the Lakers in the early 60s, when Furman played the irher night.

Also, as they nentioned, karaban and Mullins not tough enough at the forward positions

Agree, forgot to mention Mullins, and just not big enough. Most teams going with two bigs, Michigan and SJ among others going with three.
