Zappa - God bless you and all your family. May your dad rest in peace. I meet him a few times at batting clinics when I played in PAL league in the city. Needless to say he was forever one of my heroes.

Condolences to Zappaa and the rest of the Berra family.

A true loss. More than merely a baseball great, Yogi was a person who not only exemplified all of the things that make America great, but who also helped make it that way.

While it is certainly of small comfort at this time, Yogi was a true legend, of the sort that will live on forever, not only in the stories of the greatest American game, but also through his humor and quality as a person.

my deepest condolences to the Berra family

don't know the family, but like so many others, I felt like I knew Yogi

it feels right to show respect with one of my favorites,

"you can observe a lot by just watching"

The word "Legend" falls short in describing the man, and his life. Rest In Peace. Yogi will never be forgotten.
This sums up my thoughts perfectly. My condolences to the Berra family in this difficult time.

Zappa,

My condolences to you and your family at the loss of your Dad. Seeing him and hearing of him would always make my day brighter.

Of all his Yogisms, the one that sticks with me is his response to Joe Torre when asked the time: "It's now."

R.I.P. Yogi Berra.

So sorry zappa--the world lost a great 1 for sure--I was a little leaguer in the early 50's and a yankee fan--back then we knew all the players--your dad was my hero.

Hey Zappaa: I assume the Yankees are planning something nice for the Chicago series and that you will be there. It will be a great night to celebrate one of the all time best and one of the last icons of a generation (only Whitey left now). Anyway I hope to be there for the first Chicago game just for this. Bought a ticket on stub hub just now. Your Dad was, if anything, underrated. He's a top 5 Yankees of all time. Only question for me is whether he's 4 before Joe D or 5 after him.

I am not even sure condolences are the right word...because how much grief can one feel for such a life well lived? Instead I will say it's a day for you and all on the Berra's to be proud, for sure.

what a great soul, thoughts and prayers to his family and friends

Truly an American legend. Always remember from my childhood that he was one of the best from those great Yankee teams of Mantle, Maris, Richardson, Boyer, Martin, and Kubek. RIP Yogi. My sincere condolences to the Berra family.

Thoughts and prayers to you and your family, Zap. To baseball fans he was a player and sage, but to you he was dad.

As Abe Lincoln wrote (allegedly), I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost.

I haven't posted in years but Zappa & the Berra family have meant allot to me. I lost my father several years ago & the Rutgers community was very supportive. When I started coaching youth sports this community & Zappa were there for me, giving advice. Thank you, my thoughts & prayers are with the Berra family.
