Zap, I am old enough to have been a kid Yankee fan, reveling in the success of your Dad, DiMaggio, Henrich, Rizzuto, Mantle and the rest. Of all those, your Dad stood out because he drew people to him. Maybe the best example was not those corny AFLAC commercials, but his narration of the lengthy TV piece on the closing of old Yankee Stadium. Just the right mix of pride, wistfulness and nostalgia, and you just knew that was the real Yogi Berra. A childhood hero that proved to be worthy of admiration. The last of my childhood heroes, and a life well lived. Best wishes to you and your family.
