From every that’s coming out about the son, Patinkin is totally wrong - seems like it was very thinkable. Hollywood is a weird place.

RIP. Can’t imagine how tortured somebody must be to not only murder their parents, but do it in a way which is very personal and violent.

Mental health issues are on the rise. I have my theories but we need to stop talking about it and do something. So sad.

Rest in peace, sad for his other children. Opiate addiction coupled with underlying mental illness is almost an unwindable battle. it's not about Hollywood to the poster above this is a prevalent problem everywhere. Very sad
Where did I say it’s about Hollywood? It’s not. But the Hollywood celebrity culture clearly has its share of troubled people/families.

NJ has been wooing the big studios with major tax breaks and has 3 massive studios being built in Fort Monmouth, Newark and Bayonne. Hope we can avoid some of the problems that have plagued California.

What an awful story, my God. Absolutely nuts.

Also what an amazing career Rob Reiner had. Hollywood icon. But they - like all of us - are real people battling real issues that aren’t so easy solved even by money, fame, and connections.

His son was a monster. Totally out of control. Violent and unremorseful. Reiner's only issue as I see it was not cutting ties. Something he was never prone to do as he had a heart of gold.

In your last sentence, a follow up sentence is inference. Not sticking up for Hollywood, This problem doesn't get the attention until a well known person whether in Hollywood, business etc is a victim

A horrific tragedy to a man that was universally admired and liked by all who met him. Unfortunately, we have a President that doesn’t have any self control or human decency.

But is true to form. Is who Trump has always been; he doesn’t give two sh-ts. If he feels wronged it’s over until you kiss the ring. In fact he will target relentlessly no matter the circumstances.

Don’t expect high road or empathy if you have said something critical and people shouldn’t be surprised when it sounds unhinged or petty in certain circumstances bc it will. He’s consistent on this, lmao.

I would’ve been shocked had he been gracious. Cmon that’s not him.

No, it certainly isn't him, but that doesn't mean it isn't objectively, morally wrong. I read this piece earlier today that gave words to it better than I could:

That is the final measure. In moments when the country looks up for orientation, Trump does not steady the room. He destabilizes it. He does not merely break norms; he erodes the conditions that make shared meaning possible.

I’m with you. Even in this polarized and fractured media age that Office still sets a tone and standard. One can choose to be aspirational, one can choose to be vindictive, some are both.
