First kudus to Nick and Anthony. Congrats!!!! Second I love the RU coaching staff. I known Coach Goodale for a long time. I feel I have gained A friend in life. That’s the guy he is. He was the first coach to recruit my son...my family just felt my son was in good hands when he recruited AP...we stayed in N.J. At that time people questioned Coach Goodale. Granted when he first took over the job...he wanted it to work out better. Then Coop left...Molinaro moved on and now we have Donnie (Great Move). But as they say Rome was not built in a day. He stuck to his to what he thought was right and his goals. If it was not for Coach Goodale my son would not have the success he had. Also coaches Leo and Pollard are so instrumental sticking with Goody for the purpose of bringing RU Wrestling where it is today. Plus there are so many volunteers...SKWC members that donate their resources to continue to improve this program. As my son said in a Tweet. If your a N.J. stud why go anywhere else when you can build your empire at RU Wrestling. Congrats RU wrestling and everyone involved. We are RU Wrestling!!!!!

I had a chance to briefly speak to AP yesterday, as we waited for the bus to return to the College Ave gym with our National Champions on board, always a sincere nice young man who bleeds Scarlet.

Watching Anthony Perotti earn All American status at MSG is one of my top Rutgers sports memories. What a night that was.

For me, it was more memorable when he first became an AA two years earlier.... what an incredible run he had. The upset wins, and the way they happened, were amazing. If I recall correctly, he pinned a top 10 wrestler in less than 30 seconds and reversed a guy to a cradle from the sitout position (while losing) and got the pin. The other wins were exciting as well.

My favorite Perotti moment is only tangentially wrestling related. It was when he won at Princeton in the gym, and as he was jogging off the mat, he stopped to push the B1G-Ivy trophy that had been placed at center-sideline about 10 feet closer towards the Rutgers bench. That was classic. What a huge personality he was.

Who won it?
