Playing a QB who won't pass and we still line a safety up 15 yards downfield. Gave them so much room to run to make that a manageable field goal.

barring a fluke turnover for a td, how is Rutgers supposed to score if they run plays that take zero chances to move the ball down the field

Offense is hamstrung by a coaching staff that doesn't want to win
They do want to win. However, the game plan is clearly to not make mistakes on offense and pray for a miracle that the D will find a way to score.

Honest question: not a complaint necessarily

But coming in and/ or out of commercials this network keeps showing PSU graphics and in-studio videos of PSU players. Don’t recall the same for RU (am i wrong?)

So the question: is this what they do for the home team or is this just a total disrespect of RU?

At this point - this is a question

Agree. It's a slap in the face. We'd rather lose close than try and actually win. No balls. Ever.

No you're all wrong.

Our offense is designed to help the defense.
You think our defense wants Rutgers to score points?
No way. Then they'll just be back on the field.

They want an offense that runs up the middle to keep the clock running.
If we scored quickly, they would hate it.

sarcasm here folks.
seeing Penn State is an opponent that RU doesn't feel it needs to pass against and will wear out the Nit D by running into it every down except when forced to throw an occasional pass.
Maybe resting the D so it's fresh for the Turtle game might be best and give the D backups playing time today.
Playing conservatively might keep the score down, but won't bring on a win against a team like PSU and in the end, the Nits will be playing against a tired out D that has trouble stiping them
So take a bad loss, unless offense is opened up, by resting the starting D because 3 and outs will wear them down anyhow and PSU will romp anyway if the RU O just runs and saves the passing for when it gets so far behind nothing will help but the game ending .

seems like Gavin has pretty good stats, but to me PSU's playing the run and RU isn't going through the air enough to make the Nits worry about Gavin

Yeah, pinned against our own end-zone, close game, we shoulda had GW throw. That’s what every good coach does in that situation.

Running game turned it over.
Clearly that's not the case.

If that was true wouldn't they lean into the passing game?

Another pass for a 1st down.
Then a run up the middle.

It's be funny if it wasn't so sad.

That was a piss poor scheme. What is your center and guard doing?? Fire this OC, freakin Madden wannabe-play caller.

awful awful awful all around.

Reggie has no mobility and Gavin has no awareness

Schiano has recruited 30 OL in the past 3 years and not one is better than a guy with 3 ACL surgeries? No disrespect to Reggie
