I don’t see any way we lose that game. He’s probably an ole miss homer but he ain’t wrong.
I don’t feel good about our chances at USM.
Hope we both wrong.
Have you ever been through an MSU football season? There is definitely a way. ….just kidding….kindaI don’t see any way we lose that game.
I think they are going to be sky high and their q b and a few of those lineman are pretty good. I don’t think it’s a lockI don’t see any way we lose that game.
11 months ago, we got our sнit pushed in by Toledo. I see a way we lose that game.I don’t see any way we lose that game.
I do not have high expectations for this football team, but I will be shocked if we lose at USM. There is not a path for Lebby to survive the season if we lose that game.Lose that game and you might as well fire lebby when the clocks hit zero
They aren’t in the position we were in last year, they brought in good players through the portal, we brought in awful players for the most part. Big differencewe aren't losing that game....we have flipped the roster, added size, speed and most importantly depth on the defensive side of the ball....we scored a lot of points last year with having a true freshman running a system with a first year head coach....we are now year 2 and better at every position....USM is in the position we were in last year....vegas has us anywhere from 11 to 15....i say we cover easily....
Care to expound on this? All of the portal rankings I've looked at have Southern Miss so far down they don't even show up in the top 50.They aren’t in the position we were in last year, they brought in good players through the portal, we brought in awful players for the most part. Big difference
Are you saying we brought in awful players from the portal this past portal cycle 24/25?. And what linemen did they bring in that you consider good. Or is just another 85 trying to pull BS out his ***They aren’t in the position we were in last year, they brought in good players through the portal, we brought in awful players for the most part. Big difference
“Awful players” another high IQ commentThey aren’t in the position we were in last year, they brought in good players through the portal, we brought in awful players for the most part. Big difference
85bears is dumber than goatCare to expound on this? All of the portal rankings I've looked at have Southern Miss so far down they don't even show up in the top 50.
Just 85 being dumb as rocksAre you saying we brought in awful players from the portal this past portal cycle 24/25?. And what linemen did they bring in that you consider good. Or is just another 85 trying to pull BS out his ***

Toledo is two to three TDs better than Southern Miss.11 months ago, we got our sнit pushed in by Toledo. I see a way we lose that game.
If by flipping the roster you mean replacing a bunch of 3* players with a bunch of different 3* players then yeah, we’ve flipped the roster. But the talent still isn’t there to compete in the SEC. It’s still better than Southern Miss though.we aren't losing that game....we have flipped the roster, added size, speed and most importantly depth on the defensive side of the ball....we scored a lot of points last year with having a true freshman running a system with a first year head coach....we are now year 2 and better at every position....USM is in the position we were in last year....vegas has us anywhere from 11 to 15....i say we cover easily....
Well, we lost to Toledo by 24, so that still gives Southern Miss a 3-10 point cushion.Toledo is two to three TDs better than Southern Miss.
We are not better at every position. We've gone backwards at WR, and the OL is a complete unknown. We might have improved on the DL but I'd advise watching us play before passing judgement on how much better we are there....you shouldn't always believe the puff pieces and the coach speak. We did not get better at corner. We got worse at safety because we moved our one all SEC player, a safety, to linebacker.we aren't losing that game....we have flipped the roster, added size, speed and most importantly depth on the defensive side of the ball....we scored a lot of points last year with having a true freshman running a system with a first year head coach....we are now year 2 and better at every position....USM is in the position we were in last year....vegas has us anywhere from 11 to 15....i say we cover easily....
It would be so outlandish to lose that game that the entire coaching staff shouldn't be allowed on the bus after the game if it happens.Well, we lost to Toledo by 24, so that still gives Southern Miss a 3-10 point cushion.
ETA: I think we win this game, but I don’t think it’s outlandish to think we lose it either.
I’m reading stories about the intense competition on OL & DL and that nothing is settled yet. That tells me that either we have a lot of really good players & no one can really separate themselves as starters yet. Or we don’t have any good players & no one has stepped up. I’ll let the board decide which is most likely. We are not better at every position. We've gone backwards at WR, and the OL is a complete unknown. This team is better at almost every single position and is way deeper than last season (that's what she said). I think we'll roll USM in a big way but we still won't win more tgan 5 games. We are not better at every position. We've gone backwards at WR, and the OL is a complete unknown. According to the speaking heads, some good Sunbelt players from Marshall followed Huff. Does that translate to good SEC players - TBD.Care to expound on this? All of the portal rankings I've looked at have Southern Miss so far down they don't even show up in the top 50.
You can say all of those things and you may be right, but there is no evidence of this other than puffy articles. And a lot of this was said last year too. This team is better at almost every single position and is way deeper than last season (that's what she said). I think we'll roll USM in a big way but we still won't win more tgan 5 games.
I’ll say this. If we lose against USM, you want hear or see me saying we need to give LEBBY more time. He's wrong.
If we don't beat USM by 4 touchdowns, we have even bigger problems than we thought.
Pat, you aren’t this dumb.If by flipping the roster you mean replacing a bunch of 3* players with a bunch of different 3* players then yeah, we’ve flipped the roster. But the talent still isn’t there to compete in the SEC. It’s still better than Southern Miss though.
I had a dream/nightmare earlier this week that USM won 53-16 and Selmon fired him on the field after game.Lose that game and you might as well fire lebby when the clocks hit zero
That's because we do.He's wrong.
If we don't beat USM by 4 touchdowns, we have even bigger problems than we thought.
We brought in almost a whole line who didn't even go through spring. This is going to be a disaster.I’m reading stories about the intense competition on OL & DL and that nothing is settled yet. That tells me that either we have a lot of really good players & no one can really separate themselves as starters yet. Or we don’t have any good players & no one has stepped up. USM is picked 5th in the Sunbelt this year, so their media don't think much of themAccording to the speaking heads, some good Sunbelt players from Marshall followed Huff. Does that translate to good SEC players - TBD.
I'm not a defender of 85 nor am I predicting a win for USM but did you read the article? They brought in a new coach that won 10 games, his conference, and a bowl last season AND he brought 20 of those conference winning players with him that he's been the HC of for the last 4 seasons. Are you saying we brought in awful players from the portal this past portal cycle 24/25?. And what linemen did they bring in that you consider good. Or is just another 85 trying to pull BS out his ***
Our OL was abysmal last season and the offense was still decent with a FR QB and only one decent RB and WR. I'm not worried about the OL, it'll be better. RB is loaded and so is QB. WR we lost a stud and that's the one spot where I think we've got some questions early in the year but we brought in a lot of depth. DL will be massively improved but it couldn't be worse. LB is solid s is solid but CB is really thin. That's not saying we're going to be great, just better than last yearYou can say all of those things and you may be right, but there is no evidence of this other than puffy articles. And a lot of this was said last year too.
The OL was so bad we literally bought almost a completely new one who didn't go through spring practice. Our QB is injury prone and we have two brand new guys behind him. I've already commented on WR and defense. We downgraded significantly at WR.
The only area that we are deeper and stronger is at RB - but our starting RB is the same RB who led us to 12th in the conference in rushing last year.
So yeah....I don't really want to hear it. I've got to see it. And I won't learn anything from the Southern game because they suck.
