Its not the yelling that people have a problem with, its the fact he shoved the kid. You can't physically intimidate your players in this day and age.

This what I had a problem with. You can't shove him. After you shove him, you can't continue to berate him either. He humiliated that kid and I have a problem with that. He wasn't coaching anymore... he became a bully who was abusing his power.

Didn't Sean Woods want the MSU job? He was the HC at Mississippi Valley State for the last 4 years and just got hired at Morehead this year.

Yes. He wanted the job at MSU. He is a damn good coach and America has been pussified.
People also aren't making the point that the player mouthed back to Woods and bumped into him. That's when woods lost it. I guess that's ok in this society where the kids tell the parents what the 17 is up.

Agreed. People act like we're just supposed to let these kids be disrespectful. That's why our program is in the shape it is in now. It's refreshing to see somebody not bow down and kiss these rude, disorderly and disrespectful kids asses. Our whole country is screwed up because we're scared to get in a kid's face.

It's not the getting in the face that's the problem. It's the shove in the back. No physical contact can happen when yelling or disciplining a player. Ever. With that said I thought it was kinda awesome that Woods took a swipe at UK before the game and had his team on the verge of an upset. He can clearly motivate but he needs to be careful not to go too far like he did last night.

This isn't the first time that Woods has gotten physical with a player. He demands respect and his players listen. Some of you have never played sports and seen some of the things that go on. Yes, shoving a player isn't necessarily right, but he knows who can handle it and who cannot. Bobby Knight does this 30 years ago and it's a non-story. The self entitlement society and babying everyone and let's give them a pill to fix their attitude society says that this is a huge issue.

In the 1950's, Ole Miss didn't allow black students to enroll in their university. Just because they did it, doesn't make it right. Same thing goes for Bobby Knight.

I'm all for yelling, but the physical contact can't happen.

My point is that attitude in athletics has changed for the worse over the last few decades. Players dog the coach and don't respect them. That trickles all the way down to how they are raised at home. I'm not some old fart. I'm 31 and have coached in college and high school.

That's why this country is divided down the middle. 50% entitlements/50%work hard and get what you earn. Everyone won't agree with me, but I don't have an issue with what Woods did. It didn't "offend" me. I don't condone it. I wouldn't do it. It's his style and he will have a BCS job I'm a few years and you will see more of his style.

I'm surprised that some old-school coach hasn't tried some sort of physical intimidation...and promptly got his *** kicked.

They mentioned that and said it wasn't ok for either of them to act that way, but if you're the coach and a grown damn man, don't stoop to his level. You can discipline him in other ways without dressing him down and getting physical with him. That's unprofessional and this wasn't just an isolated incident as he's been cited for doing the same thing before.

Not once did that kid stop and look Woods in the eye and listen, not once. He kept walking away and mouthing off. You can see that kind of "berating" on the sidelines of practically any football game on any given Saturday too. As for the so called shove, if that's a shove then the pussification continues, grow up or go home and take your "participation trophies" with you.
