Sec 13: are you a poster here?

My family has season tickets in section 13 for probably 25 years. This year was the first year my parents who are in their mid 80s, stopped going. There has been a guy a couple rows behind me who has been screaming about Payne, all game, every game. Every time Hines goes out, he's screaming that Payne should sit down. At the final buzzer on Saturday he started screaming that Holloway sucks. I'd finally had enough (and was with a poster here who is significantly bigger than me) and finally told him to shut the hell up. It has to be somebody here. Anyway, I'll be talking to the ticket office about moving my location next year. Great (well lubricated) crowd on Saturday night, but a small percentage of our fans are insufferable.

Sad to read, but ā€œ fansā€ with an agenda are insufferable. I remember Danny Hurley being screamed at every game in the CAA when he came in games by one specific guy. You suck, your brothers better. Obvious agenda. How about the posters here that were Willard haters? About 6-7 where every post was he couldn’t coach, he suck’s, etc. People i assume have no concept that coaching isn’t Just in game, but resources, NIL, location and recruits. All we heard in the 2010-19 was we needed practice facility and as soon as 50 million drops, along comes NIL. I moved from section 7 from behind the visitors bench due to opposing fans screaming to section 10. It’s a great section.

I heard that idiot. ā€œInsufferableā€œ is the word, although clueless might work, too. He also seemed to think Hines (good as he is) is capable of busting it for 40 straight minutes out there.

How about the guy always audible on the live tv feed right behind the announcers? I always wondered if he started using constant expletives, would the TV network somehow have security approach him and stop him? Everything he says is crystal clear.

msg game vs sju. Payne had 15 boards, 13 pts, 4 blocks 2 steals, Hines didnt have a good game (0 pts, 3 bds, 2 blocks). This board wanted more hines then. That guy probably posts here...

I think the majority of the board wants or should want more Hines, but that behavior should not be tolerated.

Announcers thought he was getting thrown out the other night—and sound a little disappointed when he wasn’t.

I have mixed feelings about him. He's annoying AF and he is almost always wrong with what he yells but he's a great Seton Hall fan so I cut him some slack.

Tolerate? give it a rest. Posters post whatever they want. if people really watch what is happening on the court and thinkvthat way, so vlbe it. Posting that hines deserved more time in that sj game and a few others is surprising. Cause Payne has often just been better.

I am a huge fan of Hines. I wish early season games got him the starting nod and we never looked back. Which is what I said would happen. I dont thibk it did, beither does Sha, assuming winning games this yr is the goal. Sitting at a game, I can watch a guy, see how he boxes out, positions himself. Naj has amazing potential and a lot to learn.

I LOVE yelling and generally being a very active fan anytime I attend a sporting event, especially when I’m emotionally invested in the outcome. With that said, I always keep in mind there are children around and others paid for their tix too. It’s a balancing act but it’s not rocket science either.

This is just inaccurate. Payne has played like 3 amazing games, a few decent games and been awful in about half of them. If you (the minority) can’t see playing a freshman and probably our best player is mindboggling. Even if you think Payne has been better (which he has not) you start the freshman in hopes of retaining him for next year.

It's absolutely accurate. Payne is our leading rebounder, and has been a very good shot blocker. No one will argue that Hines isn't the more gifted player, but Payne has experience and stamina. Sha has said multiple times that Hines' conditioning isn't yet where it should be. He gave him an extended run at the end of the SJU game, and he was huffing. Had his hands on his knees before he took 2 late free throws, missed them both. We are lucky to have had Payne this year, because as much upside has Hines has, he is not ready for 30 minutes a game.

Payne hasn’t been good in 2 months, he has the worst hands I’ve ever seen and I brought that up long ago.

Sha keeping Hines on the bench in the middle of the season was asinine and deserves hard questioning when the season ends.

People on this board act like because Hines signed late that he sat on the couch all summer eating Doritos. You don’t think a top 100 kid with professional aspirations wasnt practicing on his own or doing workouts? Maybe a 6’10ā€ 265 guy isn’t supposed to look like a gazelle out there….

Has Sha ever done anything wrong?

You obviously weren’t a fan when Holloway, Barrett, or Harvey played….they would have each had 2+ more assists per game if playing with big men with just average hands.

Again just more inaccurate information. Hines conditioning is an issue? He literally just played 29mins

Hines averages more points, blocks, shoots better from the field, better from the ft line and 1 less reb in less mins.

No one is trying to diminish Payne. He would’ve been a great backup off the bench. Hines is better and has been better.

How is it inaccurate? Holloway has stated he is not well-conditioned enough to get regular extending minutes. He was gassed during the SJU game. Your n of 1 doesn't support any kind of point. Again.

And since when are you the arbiter of accuracy? Clownish.

I was 1000% for Hines starting. Then I changed my mind, fear of fouls and stamina and similar contributions.

We had 5 games in BE when combined the centers didnt have a double double. Hines and Payne both had three double doubles. Paynes' were early when at full strength, he had the three best stat lines, all in first 8 games, hines had in last 2 games. Best stats were Payne's when Hines got hurt.

Early on, imo Payne gave us more, Hines finished better.

The one time I was telling for Sha to put Hines in, the BU away game. Sha ignored me. Payne's D saved the game. I still think I was right...

Not to get off of the topic but I would love to see both of them on the floor together once in a while.

Payne can switch and guard the smaller quicker guards and forwards. I do think since his ankle injury he has taken a step back. Hopefully the rest before BET starts will help both him and Hines, who is also nursing an ankle injury.

Hines is surely a very gifted freshman, hoping we do all we can to keep him.

I’m probably the biggest Hines truther on the internet, but somehow the debate morphed from ā€œHines should probably start and play more than he doesā€ into ā€œPayne should never see the court if Najai is healthy.ā€

Payne was a beast for much of the season and a huge reason we were in the hunt to begin with. 50/50 platoon was probably the right move, considering Najai’s age and conditioning. Maybe 60/40 for Hines. But in no universe should Payne have been getting any disrespect from our fans.

It ain't me. I'm on the west coast.

While I often get frustrated with our players, especially in the NIL era, I would never scream at or constantly dog one of our players at a live event. Something like that comes from active dislike, and I've never gotten to that point with any of our guys. I want them all to succeed.....as unlikely as that is.

Nobody is saying anything disrespectful about Payne. Making observations about his play are accurate. He played very well beginning of the season. Lately he has not been a difference maker

I don't know who it is but I know you you're talking about. We were also "blessed" with another fan, who the couple in front of us and we agree, cost us the UConn game. He literally was yelling how much Payne sucks and got into the aisle during UConn and started screaming bend your knees WHILE we were shooting free throws. I heard him at another game and thought it was PTSD turns out he was again in the section but sitting higher up that game.
