When do you think we will have the broadcast schedule? Should this not be nailed down by now? Also aren't the games on WSOU radio? You would not know that based on this schedule. Only mentions the mobile app which I do not have use for.

Expect the Jan. 4th Creighton and Jan. 17th Butler games to be played in the afternoon as the Devils play at night on both dates .

Glad we re playing SJU in MSG, but Tues nite? That will be tough.
We are always going to play them their if the powers that-be think they will get a full house or at least close to it. People read way too much into this stuff and conjure up things because its them. The reason why in the past we didn't play their compared to say Nova, Uconn, Gtown, Providence is because those games were more likely to fill seats, there are limited dates at MSG and it wasn't clear how the matchup would draw. Even last year with us being awful the game was still moved because by that point SJU was such a hot ticket they were going to sell out. Now that they've become what they've become with Pitino and are packing MSG regardless of when games are played, it inures to their benefit and the Garden's benefit to play as many games there as possible.

It doesn't really matter what time we play. The bigger question is how many games can they win? Those first 8 games are challenging. Sight unseen it has a 2-6 feel to it and that may be an optimistic projection. So, first guess is 7-13 for The BigEast record.

I know this is a first world problem but I’d rather not attend a game than have to spend the last 30 or so minutes hoping it will end in time to catch the next train home.

Seven BE wins sounds very optimistic: hope you are right. Arguably, is this team that much better than last? Hard to tell with both squads' rosters such unknowns this time of the year. Last Sept. we were excited about transfers from Ohio State, BC, Providence. Should have dwelt more on why they left better/stronger programs. Too many kudoos to Middleton's high school career. But fingers crossed. Maybe Holloway is smarter.

OMG! Platform mania! That's crazy!

No, it’s 2025
67, I understand that you are (blissfully) unaware of how this works, so let me try to help.

As of this year the BE has three media partners for Men's Basketball -- Fox Sports, NBC Sports and TNT Sports. This arrangement covers six years through the 2030-31 season.

Fox Sports encompasses Fox, FS1 and FS2. TNT includes TBS and TruTV. NBC telecasts will mostly be streamed on Peacock but there will be games aired on NBC.

In the case of all of our partners, any broadcast television games will also be streamed on the respective rights holder's online partner -- the Fox Sports website, Peacock (NBC) or HBO Max (TNT).

All non-conference home telecasts will air on one of our three media partners outlets.

The Maui Invitational is owned by ESPN so those games will naturally air on one of its family of networks and also be streamed on its new direct-to-consumer app.

The Kansas State road game will be aired by one of the Big 12 media rights holders -- CBS, ESPN, FOX, NBC or TNT.

I don't think you can expect much from Hines this year. Doesn't matter how good you are at 18, you're not better than 24-year-olds. When he committed the consensus was that he will be good down the road but he's not ready yet. Very few freshmen bigs are.

I don't think Godswill is capable of playing forward.

I do think this year’s squad is significantly better than last year’s team. While the big east is expected to have a down year minus St. John’s and UConn, I don’t think the bottom of the big east is as bad as they usually are. IMO, can we compete with the middle tier teams? I expect Marq, Creighton, and Nova to not be as good as they usually are

At risk of offending the student broadcasters, you're better off listening to the professional broadcast on the app or internet--we're very fortunate that Gary Cohen (a hall-of-famer) chooses to dedicate the baseball offseason to calling our games (which I can't imagine get above a few dozen people listening?). And Dave Popkin isn't too bad either.

With more partners than previously (as I outlined above) there are probably more conversations about which outlet gets which games. There will be plenty of time for you to plan your broadcast viewing.

WSOU will air all games. The athletic department info never mentions them -- I suspect there is an exclusivity clause in the deal with Seton Hall Sports Properties, the entity that owns the Men's Basketball commercial broadcast rights, that prevents them from being included.

You can listen to the commercial radio broadcast through the athletic department website and most games are available on Sirius/XM if you are a subscriber.

As a former student broadcaster, I will tell you I was tremendous. Lol. In reality, I was passable at best which is why I never pursued that avenue. At least I can say I did a game broadcast from Madison Square Garden.

We are very fortunate to have Gary Cohen handling our play-by-play. He remains one of the best in the business. Dave Popkin is a solid color analyst and very good backup PBP person. Additionally, he's a really nice man.

I always considered Gary to be calling Mets games during his real off-season from Seton Hall!

The student broadcaster may not be as professional but they digress less and Hall Line after the games is very entertaining! Many a televised game has these so called pros going off on tangents that make the games hard to listen too and I often turn the volume way down. I do that with the Yanks all the time...different sport but the same issue. They try to be entertaining and lose site of the action on the court or ballfield! Color analysts are killing viewing enjoyment! A pet peeve...sorry.

Hall Line is required listening! lol.

Always available on any radio app featuring WSOU. Usually I try I hit the SHU app for Holloway postgame then over to TuneIn or wherever for WSOU.
