Most people including me did have swain winning it all this year. Rville also surprised me some this year as well. They are better than I thought going into the season.
SMC JVs is a joke. Our JVs only play 6 games for the most part. Our youth leagues play twice that many. I think we are allowed to play 8 or 9 games. I wish we would go back to playing a title game.
Murphy vs swain or Robbinsville would be nice in 2 weeks.

I assume most varsity coaches want the JV season over so they can get freshman moved up and practicing in their system. It would be nice to play one outta conference game. I personally think the youth season is way too long. Little guys shouldn't be playing from mid July until the end of October.
I agree. Youth league should be 6 or 7 games. Jvs 7 or 8. All others conference play 7 or 8
Youth league could drop towns, smokey, basin and Franklin, the season would be just right for the little guys.
Wonder if they'll try to get Ledford and Laney on the field together next year? Neither seems like a tailback to me. What grade is the Allen boy?
I got Murphy at 33-2 on jv since the start of the 2013 season....Congrats to all the boys and coaches on such an awesome run this season.....And would it kill swaindad to give just a LITTLE props to the Dogs for going on the road and beating an undeafeated Devils squad for the title ? come on man........Murphy just seems to reload with quality talent and the future looks good on varsity....hope these boys finish up the season strong next week and no letdown....
I agree it would be nice to get a couple non conference games. It’s just not going to happen with the way smc jv is setup.
Towns was on the schedule this year but dropped out last minute but the schedule wasn’t reworked. I don’t look for them included next year.
Murphy wouldn't be sitting undefeated without their eighth graders. Ledford, Johnson, Payne, Brown, Charles, Tye and Cole Laney are all back next year. Murphy wouldn't have beat Swain without big plays from this group last night also.

I give credit to Murphy on the win. We just made too many mistakes and three turnovers hurt us.
I think DPI rules (which governs SMC JVs) allow 7 games plus post-season, so people could schedule Christ School (who also has an 8th-9th grade team) and get a championship/bowl game if they really wanted to get more games in. But I am not sure how many people would want to schedule Christ School these days.
Looks like the skill talent is still going to be in good shape. Wide reciever, fullback and wingback look especially strong. The big question is who takes the reins at QB for Rumfelt and who takes over for Wood at tailback. I could see them trying Charles again at tailback but he's a better wingback. No clue on the QB situation, any ideas Cold Biscuit? Is there a natural QB coming up from youth league next year or one already on the JV roster?

Cole Laney is the backup QB now. Hunter Stalcub is moving up from youth league and has a ton of experience there. I would think Charles at tail, ledford at full, not sure at wing. Imo Murphy will be fine at skill positions, the line rebuild will be the question.
