Is this my dad?
Marcus Welby, you definitely seem to suck at life -- especially ordering cheeseburgers.
Lol BBdK sucks at this board.

Returned from Dan's - Lamar 45 minutes ago. Grabbed a medium cheeseburger all the way with a small side of french fries. Both were excellent and well-prepared. Fries had just the right amount of crispness. Pictures are below. By the way, yes, that's mayo next to the fries, which I prefer over ketchup as a fries sauce. $5.45 total with free water as the beverage. We lived in Pflugerville, so that's usually the one we'd hit up. Their breakfast is always solid and loved their CFS, but the burger was what we got 99% of the time.
Have always liked Wendy's, been disappointed on my last few visits, patties too dry and salty.

Looks pretty pedestrian.
The Central Texas UK club meets for watch parties at Blackfinn AmeriPub at the Domain. I attended often while TXWildcat97 and Darren were club presidents. These days, I usually only attend the annual SEC Kickoff Party and Picnic every August at the American Legion down by the river.Damn, I miss Austin, especially the mexican food.
You still hit up any of the watch parties? Last I knew, the Irish place near Pluckers where we went for the UK games changed to something else.

Now that picnic is a total blast! I shouldn't admit this, but at the last event, I drank 7 quarts of Alltech Kentucky Kolsch beer and stuffed myself silly on Rudy's BBQ. All free. Still rode my bicycle home, too. Crazy, I know.
They moved it because support was better at AM Vets.Saw that they moved the picnic from Zilker, any reason why? Always had a good time at both the picnic and watch parties. Third Base was another place they held them at. Is Brian and Darren even around anymore?
Spirit Animal at Chuck's is :fire:
Louisville - Corbett's
This is a fine restaurant and you can only order the burger if you are sitting in the basement, in the bar or on the porch. I live close to there - a nice move is to head up there, sit at the bar, turn on the game, have a bottle of red and knock out the burger.

Whoppers, like all chain burgers back in the day, used to be good. The last Whopper I tried to eat I threw half of it away. You would have to be well in your 40s to remember when chain burgers were actually good.
Yep, that's me. We may have met at the 2009 picnic. I also attended several parties at Bagpipes (now: Big Daddy's) when Darren served as prez.I had left Austin by then. We met and talked a few times at one of the picnics and several watch parties. I remember you talking about riding your bike all over Austin. I think the first picnic I attended, there was about 7 or 8 of us there. By the time I had left, it had grown exponentially, for all of the schools.
I miss Austin as well...lived there (Round Rock) from 2000-2006...great city...great food...
I could live a couple weeks off just the BBQ and texmex...
I get back there occasionally for work and was crushed to see Antonios on 35S frontage road had closed...
I could use a trip Magnolia Cafe right about now...

Sorry for the thread hijack. Back on topic. Red Robin. If one signs up for the Red Robin fan club, benefits include a free burger and fries during birthday month.
On Veterans Day, Red Robin also offers free burgers and fries for vets. I attended this year. Tavern Burger quality = above average. Not quite mass-produced, and still decent.
Pics make this thread a winner. Keep them coming.Sorry for all the pics, but I love this ****.
I used to work at Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio. I was at Rudy's (the one going out toward Leon Springs) eating brisket on wax paper when I learned Billy Clyde would become the UK coach.
It would be out of your way, but while visiting family for Thanksgiving we went to "NACburger" in Nacogdoches. Had a BAB (bacon avacodo burger). Thing was dynamite. Had some pico mixed in it. Place hasn't been around all that long, tucked in a modern strip building on the north end of the SFA campus. But probably the best burgers in the Piney Woods.
Tough place to be a Cats fan. I lived in JC for a long time. My hatred for UT is strong! I was hoping somebody was going to say a Pal's burger. Pretty solid for fast food, but obviously not "best you've ever eaten" quality.Actually live in Kingsport, but our daughter went to State, and JC has far and away more dining options, so we have eaten more than our share of meals there.
