SWO continues to rack up the ground yards. EB ran it well also as both put over 60 on the score board in round # 2.

For SWO The Big Johnson outpaced the entire SW Edgecombe team with 192 yards and 4 TDs. Soliz added 118 as the Stallions totaled 421 rushing. SWE only managed 155 with their #1 back held to 45 yards. We ran it, passed it, and converted 4 turnovers to 24 pts. I think. On the down side we also gave up 3 fumbles which resulted in 3 short field scores for the Cougars. Dont know th stats for EB yet.

ELIZABETHTOWN – Only the clock could stop senior Xavier Wooten and the East Bladen Eagles Friday night.

Wooten ran 27 times for 309 yards and 6 touchdowns, and the Eagles scored touchdowns on 10 of 12 offensive possessions en route to a 68-28 victory over Greene Central in the second round of the NCHSAA Class 2A Football Play-offs.

On their final possession of each half, time ran out with East Bladen inside the Greene Central 32 yardline. Those were the only two Eagle possessions that didn’t end with a touchdown.

Junior Eric Chancy carried the ball 18 times for 175 yards and a touchdown as the powerful Eagle ground attack generated 557 yards rushing on 60 rushes.

“That’s what we do,” said Eagle Coach Robby Priest. “That is what we hang our hat on. We had some lucky breaks too – some fumbles that we got back.”

Senior quarterback Quinton Bedsole completed 5 of 7 passes for 83 yards and two touchdowns as the Eagles racked up 640 yards of total offense.

Meanwhile the Eagle defense held Greene Central to 32 yards rushing and 152 yards of total offense. Ram quarterback Jackson Batchelor connected on 8 of 15 passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns with one interception.

Looks like it will be a GROUND and POUND game. Who can stop whur defense has stopped 3 top backs last 3 games and held em to under 100 yards. Looking forward to a great game and a chance to return to the Eastern Finals. Which ever team advances they will have earned it.

SWO.....is big and phyiscal.....to be honest at the being of the year I had my doubts. Right now they look like a well grease machine. Everybody we lost to is in the third round jacksonville, WTH and ED. Defense played well in all those games. Offense just wasn't clicking trying. Now they went back to our game smashmouth football. Big line Big backs =Big wins period. Anybody that went to the Wallace swo first game. Swo shoot there own toes off. Not taking nothing from Wallace rose hill. Because they have a damn good team. Too physical for NE this week. We not worried about east bladen. Nobody they played is on the level of jville ,wrh ,ed. Yes or conference is weak but they didn't put themselves in the conference. We have won state championship in the ECC.

East Bladen like us were in a very weak conference. We both lost early in the year non-conference. Of note they just got by James Keenan and only good win before the playoffs was against Clinton.. Nobody in their conference has a winning record. A couple 0-fers and a forfit win. they have been rollin the first two playoff games, again like us.

My bust on the three rivers conference, just not use to seeing a 10 team conference. East Bladen did only have 1 non conference game. Whiteville and S. columbus along with EB had only 1 loss, they beat each other. I never said i wasnt worried about EB. I compared them to us as a good matchup. simular type running/power football. I dont believe I even predicted we would win. No need to worry about anybody. You play who is in front of you Fridays. Im sure the coaches for each team will do their homework and have a game plan. Good luck EB ....and may the best team Friday Night go on and rep the 2A east well.With the 4 teams left I dont see a loser, but 2 will lose. And No I dont think SWO will be one who loses. And Im sure EB fans think the same about the Eagles. The teams will prove some of us right and some wrong.

We "Retooled" as you put it last year (2016) going to the second round after a losing season in 2015. New Coach(s) and dumping the spread. back to Smash mouth Stallion Football. There will be a "Tool" demo at East Bladen Friday at 1930. A "wood laying" demonstration by the Stallion Defense (if we kickoff first) will start the festivities followed by lots of playing of the SWO school song (The Magnificant 7) or as most know it the theme song of old Marlboro commercials. Our rendition of it has been renamed The Magnificant 11

I have no doubt they are, just as much as we are. Third round games and beyond should all be good matchups. 2A this year has some really good teams left in the brackets. It will be interesting to see who does what to whom .....

He got 4.6 yards carry 41 yds. My point was if EB let him average that wow. But that was early in the year first game. My question how can EB...put up 551yds on Jk? Win by 6....Friday EB won't have half of that total offense. I will expecting an apology Saturday if I am wrong I will do the same.
