You are confusing me with someone else.

I never said such a thing in 2004.

(1) in 2004 I went under a different user name. So wasn’t me.

(2) I was a HUGE Schiano fan during Schiano 1.0. So the comment you attribute to me never would have even crossed my mind

(3) there was not a happier RU fan than me when Schiano was brought back. It was elated!! I was firmly in the category of RU fan that thought: “there is no one else on this planet that can get in done at Rutgers like Schiano can… he already did it here before …and now we’re in the big10!”

However the lack of results in Schiano 2.0 has me seriously concerned.

While I am not convinced yet he won’t get it done my doubts are growing big time

Casting me as a longtime Schiano hater is just a lie Al.

An accurate assessment: I am a long time HUGE Schiano fan that has NOW become seriously worried due to lack of progress and the embarrassing ***-beatings by even mediocre Big10 teams .
Al accused me of the same thing, and I wasn't even on this board in 2004 or 2005.

I think he read it quickly and thought the post was talking about overall wins not BIG wins. Doesn’t matter as Schiano probably won’t be canned unless Wagner is our only win. There’s no chance he’d be canned with 4 or more wins (any combo).
He won't be canned for a long time, either way. Rutgers does not feel pressure to win, they merely feel (some) pressure to not be embarrassingly bad. That's why they re-hired a guy who most people knew would be mediocre at best. Mediocre works for a lot of our fans. They spray themselves over it.

So he is either confused or lying

The fact that this is a trend for Al suggests the latter
He'll say anything to prove himself right and make sure everyone but Schiano, including the fans, takes the blame for terrible football. Blaming the head coach! Madness!

You missed my follow up comment where I said we would never recruit like Penn state , OSU and michigan

But I said there is no reason we can’t recruit like the middle of the big10

But classes made up fully of 2 and 3 stars is BOTTOM of the Big10.

It is INSANE to think that Rutgers CEILING is the BASEMENT of the big10
Fair enough, but it seems like 2024 is going to be a middle of the pack class much like 2022. If he keeps that going, his recruiting is sufficient IMO.

As I insinuated above, it's a game of Whack A Mole with al.

Isn't it great that he's now attacking people and making claims about them from 18-20 years ago? What a great fan.

Personally I prefer this version of the game:

That’s a huge spread !!!
4 is a disaster . 6 would be great !
Talk about hedging your bets Al! You will give us a solid prediction later this summer . Not letting you off the hook 😊
if it's a 4 win season, the product on the field play must give hope for the future .
A 5 win might show W-L improvement, but the main thing that would make 5wins great is being competitive in the 7 loses.
6 wins and a bowl bid, just gravy 👍

I heard Message Board Genuises is awarding Al their first ever Darwin award for repeated stupidity after he was cited again.

QB play AND whether the OL can protect and open holes.

I’m more optimistic there. The OL had time early. The run blocking for Sam Brown was fine early. And there was ample time to complete the short easy throws. We just flat out didn’t have anyone who could be a game manager and complete those passes.

I’m not saying the OL is great, but our situation now is nothing like the dangerous situation we put poor Art in.

He's also not the sunny optimist his defenders say he is. He'll blame fans for not giving enough money constantly and also say Rutgers is the hardest place to win at despite the many advantages it has.

Schiano only started in 2020, and it takes time for kids to mature. To expect a Schiano kid to be an nfl kid is ridiculous.
Absolute ********. It is now 2023, kids who are entering their junior year are from 2020 and check ANY mock draft for next year. You will see PLENTY of prospects already being graded out for the NFL from 2020. Al, genuinely this is getting sad to read. Seek help because your love affair for a college football coach is at an unhealthy level. Like I’m legitimately worried about you the day schiano is fired, are you going to be ok? Not kidding dude, are you gonna be alright? One Rutgers fan to another

Also our WR’s are completely untested. I’m excited to see how some of them do, but it’s certainly an unknown. The whole offense minus Brown is really just a giant question mark

We’ve got juniors who might have NFL possibilities at the end of the year.

The OL should be much better than it was last year. Willie struggled, as did Dunlap. Dunlap should be much better, with better coaching, and Pierce slides into LT. Asamoah and Ciaffoni battle it out for LG. Brown is our Center. Needham will be our RT and if he struggles, he will be supplanted by Dante Chin. Overall the line will have an opportunity to be much improved.

You’re right - that was my handle (you got one thing right)

But you are totally off base about my attitude towards schiano

Maybe I made some random post expressing doubt after the Bufnova losses (what was that 2002? And who wasn’t expressing doubt after those loses?!?!? ) but by 2004 his team was showing obvious progress. That’s the year we beat MSU. And the loses were no longer embarrassing blowouts. I have NEVER been an anti-Schiano guy and by 2004 I was totally onboard that he was moving the program in the right direction as the progress was undeniable. Actually the progress was starting to show in 2003.

So youre just absolutely wrong that I was anti-Schiano in 2004.

I have been a Schiano fanboy for a long time

The doubt has only crept in within the last year

Al - you don’t know me. People that know me know that I was on friggen cloud 9 when Schiano came back. As indicated previously - I too thought he was uniquely able to bring RU back

But, you see, I am able to be objective. Unlike you. The lack of progress should be concerning to any RU fan. It’s glaring

I am shocked by his lack of success so far.

He needs to turn this around QUICKLY - ie we need to start seeing the undeniable progress that his teams showed in 2003/2004/2005 (win the winable ones and stop the embarrassing loses).

I have absolutely zero reason to lie about my past and current attitude towards Schiano.

Why you feel the need to make **** up is beyond me

I understand you don’t like me - I’ve been calling you an embarrassing attention seeking clown for 2 decades. You’re a fool.

Only now have a come to realize that you’re also a lying *******

ps, through all of this I still have not said Schiano won’t get it done. I didn’t say it in 2004 and am not saying it now. The lack of progress has me very concerned but I have never said Schiano can’t do it.

Don’t mind him, if the attention isn’t focused on him everyone else is stupid and ignorant. He’s the only one who knows anything about RU football.

I’m just glad that people are seeing through it now even though I caught a lot of flak several years ago when I started calling him out on the nonsense.

You’re absolutely right

All this time I thought he was just a happy-go-lucky clown

I personally haven’t noticed this lying, aggressive a-hole side of him . I usually try to ignore him - guess I’ve been successful in that regard since apparently he commonly acts like this?

In terms of this thread - can’t blame him - I guess any cornered animal can get desperate and vicious

Let me remind your selective memory that we spent a good portion of the 2004 season arguing whether Rutgers was on the right track. We finished 4-7, as the season was affected by a car accident that put 3 DBs out of action. You were wrong then. I will take your word for it that you know better now.

Al,

(1) this never happened.

(2) if it did I would find it very disturbing that you remembered such an interaction nearly 2 decades later. Really weird.

Get a life - create some memories beyond imagined ones from this message board

Get the mental health help you need. This whole interaction is truly bizarre.

I am putting you on my short list of ignored posters. You truly give me the creeps.
