I think Mullen will have this team ready Saturday night, though. After the 45-0 blowout, Nutt never cared about the Egg Bowl. Mullen's focus since he set foot on campus was beating the Bears. I just hope our team can buy into it this year and not get sucked into thinking this year will be a cakewalk in Oxford. I do think the Bears gave a lot in the game last night, and I hope that plays into our favor... it would moreso if we were at home, but we better be ready to go from the opening kick Saturday night.

Yea they went to Dallas again (FIFTY YEARZZZZ). I heard many Bears had already made New Years reservations in Orlando that year, though, thinking they would come in and beat us and go to the Capital One Bowl. I don't think our fans or our team will be cocky heading into Oxford, though. They better not be.

It made me feel better about next week to see our defense get back to flying around and creating turnovers in the second half yesterday. I feel like they needed that confidence to get back in "ball hawk" mode, and to get out of the mindset that all of the sudden they couldn't stop ****. Hopefully that feeds into next week defensively.

I have no doubt that Offensively, Mullen will have a good game plan put together. And if you listened to his post game interview, he was already talking about how this week we will "do a lot of things differently, because this is a very important week for us"....so I think OM fans that are expecting us to not be as prepared as usual, will be upset.

What concerns me is that I feel it will be a close game, so special teams is crucial. They have a better special teams unit than we do. Especially field goals. We do NOT need this game to ride on the leg of Devon Bell.

So if they deserved/earned a Cotton Bowl bid in 2009 then you could say we have earned a Cotton Bowl bid ten times since Sherrill started at State.
