This was push back against the B1G. And I almost get it.

it’s a bad look to keep disappointing in March especially when liking into the tournament with 10 teams.

Of course we would be the sacrificial lamb. We absolutely deserved to be in. Such a d!ck punch.
Yep. It was a very likely call. I said it and got panned here. These bracketologists are a joke. They were all wrong! My Trump test was right.

And it’s a statement that you can’t have 3+ quad 3/4 losses. No matter what your Q1 record is.

And if you lose a key player , you better not be in the bubble convo

Conference keeps pissing in its pants year after year in tourney.

Plus this year conference is full of 8-10 seeds and there wasn’t much opportunity for huge wins albeit we were 2-2 vs Purdue and Indiana. Only top seeds on conference.

Bottom line is we blew it with how we ended season losing to Nebraska / Minnesota / Michigan and NW.

Committee did us a favor last year and was not going to give us a favor 2 years in a row.

Illinois played its way into a bubble team, but still got into the tournament.

Close record to Rutgers and played poorly down the stretch.

I hope this will be a learning lesson for Rutgers where the team can't be outstanding on defense and mediocre on offense and expect the NCAA Committee will select them. The team played hard but lacked go to scorers to halt scoring droughts and making shots at crunch time. There will be a need to change the roster for next season bringing in players that can create shots off the dribble. There also must be a change in the half court offense to create open 3 point shots.Rutgers needs more points from the 3 point line.Bracketology clearly didn't work for Rutgers.

While I certainly agree RU got screwed, I also concur this is a big middle finger to the league as a whole by these smaller conference ADs. They are envious of the kind of dough this conference rakes in and this how they get their pound of flesh.

Never a bubble team. Never mentioned as a bubble team. Beat UCLA and Texas. Beat Rutgers head to head.

Should they have been better? Sure. But replacing 5 starters turned out to be harder than many thought.

Just win games, no one cares if it's using offense or defense. Win more games.

Check #8-seed Iowa's quad 3&4 record and get back to me. And that's just one team... and an EIGHT.

very interesting. BUT then the spin will be the Q1/Q2 record with loses to Duke and TCU..but wins 3 wins vs. SHU, Iowa St. and Clemson?

No one is making excuses? You’re literally making up conspiracy theories. Cliff, cam and Caleb are undoubtedly more important than mag. Sorry dude.

Not a conspiracy theory. Just having an understanding of human nature and again, I kind of agree with where the Committee is coming from you can’t keep underperforming as a conference and expect to squeeze nine or ten teams in.

This is why I root for the conference in the NCAA and in the Football playoffs. Not everyone gets why that’s important but hopefully today serves as a reminder for next year.

Going by the numbers our snub literally makes ZERO SENSE

IMHO this was all about the committee not wanting to give the big10 nine teams - and we were #9 in their eyes.

And considering the Big10s performance (or lack thereof) last few years - not surprising

Since the #s make no sense the “Big10 snub” theory is the only one that makes sense to me

The #s make a bit more sense when you realize they don't give a **** what your NET or kenpom ratings are.
Then that just means they change the rules year to year since I thought NET was really important as recently as last year …. No?

It wasn't important last year either. A lot of people have said it is but they are pretty clearly wrong. It's being used to sort the quads, and look at the strength of wins and losses. It's not being directly used (much) to select the field.
