Yes.Best game RU has played all season. It was a great TEAM win! The entire team came to play and really took it to OSU. I was really encouraged when we went up 7-2 at the half. But when OSU scored the next 2 goals to make it 7-4 early in the 3rd period, I thought, "Oh boy, here we go again." That'sl because we have wilted in the 2nd half when playing with the lead. This time however, was different. Mullens, Cham, et al dug deep and would not let their lead dissipate like previous games and took it to OSU and dominated them.
The only tiny criticism again would be faceoffs. We just really suck at that. But what we did do well today was not only play really good D but also in transition took the ball away from OSU players streaking down the field.
For me this was the BEST and most dominant win of the season. Way to go guys! Go RU!
Agreed.Faceoff stats won’t look great but Harryman isn’t at his best. He did a really nice job of tying them up and making a scrum of it. That’s how we have to win possessions. It’s not going to be pretty but it’s not the faceoff that matters. It’s who wins possession after the faceoff. We were all over them after they won the face off. That’s the formula for us.
Now where have you heard that before...We win the groundball battle this quarter we win the game.
My whole life from the time I was playing rec ball lol.Now where have you heard that before...![]()
I knew we couldn’t keep you away!HOLY **** WHERE WAS THIS ALL SEASON!!
When Ohio State was #4 in the country and the only remaining undefeated Division 1 team? Not really huge ... RU has beaten OSU before.
Absolutely right about that switch and I also think the Thompson switch at defense has solidified our defense as well. We dominated this team even though we lost most of the faceoff's. The subtle thing that most people are missing is that with Coyne at Midfield it forces our opponents to play him with a pole which frees up Sprock and Casey for short sticks (both had goals today). Love the Peterson goal on EMO and the Schnacte goal on EMO both those kids have cannons and Schnacte's goal was nasty. This was a much needed win and hopefully a spring board to a great plan to win games in the Big Ten. If we can not win face off's we have to have great goaltending and right now I think that Max is the best keeper in the B1G.It’s taking longer than any of us thought, with the new OC and new faces, not to mention position changes.
Gallagher to attack ya been huge. Coyne is more effective at midfield too. Great switch all the way around.
This is a springboard win hopefully. That’s the most complete game I’ve seen from RU in a long, long time.
Go to Michigan if you can only go to one game. It’s alumni weekend and usually a great crowd.

Lax culture is huge tailgating. I posted to you in another thread. I have season tickets you can have if you post an emailzIf there's tailgating I can't grab a few buds who will go
Going into today, I felt we could only get to the NCAA Tournament by doing one of two things. Either go 4-1 in the big ten or get into and win the Big Ten Tournament.

Was at the game - lots of fun. Was worried abt face off in particular. RU had 3 poles in at one point. Needed to mix things up and they gave a new look today - don’t think tOSU was prepared. They usually won the clamp but it was anyone’s game once the ball finally got in play.
Hate to sound a down note on a great day, but even with a 4-1 record in the B1G they have to make the tournament finals.
BTW, give Harryman props for tying things up while playing hurt and letting his wing players diminish the OSU advantage in winning the draws.
I agree. 3-2 in the B1G puts us squarely on the right side of the bubble. 4-1 gets us in for sure no questions asked. That first part is not accurate at all.
I like the point about needing to keep a LP on Coyne and freeing up othersAbsolutely right about that switch and I also think the Thompson switch at defense has solidified our defense as well.
