Holy Memory Lane CowbellMan! Don;t for get the Fargo's! Jackie and Rough House Fargo... They had beer guts and were mean as hell... And Rough House was the original chair over the head guy!...
And Lance Russell...
My favorite channel 5 saturday "wrasseling" story"...
Lance is interviewing Handsome Jimmy after a match... now think about how the Handsome one talked...
and hear him say...
"Lancer... Lancer... I got to get out of here... my drugs are wearing off..."
... he walks off as Lance Russell trys to cover it up by saying "Handsome Jimmy has a sinus infection and needs an anithistomeeeean"
That was back when such things just weren't said on TV, It was hilarious!

How can you leave the woman's pet and the man's regret off that list. Come on, where's Austin Idol?

Who was the crazy canadian that used to cut himself with an ax?

...if you're talking about most over, the list probably looks like:

1. Hogan
2. Flair
3. Dusty Rhodes
4. Randy Savage
5. Andre The Giant
6. Roddy Piper
7. Stone Cold Steve Austin
8. Dusty Rhodes
9. Sting
10. Brett Hart

If you're talking about actual wrestling ability (charisma, workrate, athleticism, etc.), the list would look like this:

1. Flair
2. Flair
3. Flair
4. Flair
5. Flair
6. Flair
7. Flair
8. Flair
9. Flair
10. Steamboat

Please note that Ultimate Warrior belongs on no lists like these.

1) Hogan, who can argue?

I can. "He doesn't know a wristlock from a wristwatch." - Verne Gagne

2) Scott Hall

Top wrestlers or top alcoholics?

3) Triple H

Top wrestlers or top politicians? No buddy-buddy with Shawn and no pokey-pokey with Stephanie = no push for hHh.

4) The Rock

Great entertainer, yes. Wrestler, no.

5) Steve Austin

The first wrestler in this list. Pre-neck injury, Austin was one of the best.

6) Ultimate Warrior

Which one? Hell, it doesn't matter. They all sucked.

7) Shawn Michaels

Without the politics, yes. With the politics, he's a bit tainted.

8) Sting

Solid. Not great, but solid.

9) Undertaker

Ditto. Although I will admit, from the beginning, I was a huge UT mark.

10) Ric Flair

Sweet damn. The man may have been the most corrupt politician behind the scenes, but there's no damn way he's rated below these stiffs. Flair can wrestle a broom stick to a 5-star match.

Ed: Honorable Mention: Goldberg

Now it's official. You are trolling.

I may have missed his name mentioned in the replies, but another name deserving of high ranking is Bret Hart. Owen deserves high honorable mention.

And a side ranking of the top wrestling play-by-play announcers:

1. Gordon Solie
2. Gorilla Monsoon
3. the rest

Top wrestling color announcers:

1. Bobby "The Brain" Heenan
1a. Jesse "The Body" Ventura
2. no one else

AA - Goldberg?

I was always a big Mr. Wrestling #2 fan

Although not even a top 50 guy- I used to enjoy watching the French Angel put "the claw" on people using his bowling support on his wrist.

Talk about taking what should have been a bad gimmick and making it work, the whole "Lie, Cheat, Steal" idea should have bombed, but Eddie made it work like it was gold. Ric Flair himself said he thought Eddie was one of the all time greats.

Eddie made it work like it was gold because it was gold. One of the best gimmicks ever.

He was a champion for a long time when I was young, before the mass popularity of wrestling. He was champion of the WWWF for 11 years.

...although I would probably add to the list (somewhere):

The Dirty Dutchman
The Fabulous Ones
Brett Hart and Jim "The Anvil" Niedhardt (sp?)
Bam Bam Bigelow

Me and by buddies used to have a big 'ol time at the Mid South Colossieum on the occasional Monday night. Best entertainment $3 could buy on a Monday night.
