It's been a long time since we've been competitive and actually fun to watch. This gives us something to work off of. If we can play like we did in the first half, and learn to feed the post more efficiently and foul less we can be competitive with most everyone we play. I want Hines starting also.

A lot to be encouraged about so far. In a down BE, this team looks like it can at least compete in that middle tier. Very interested to see how they bounce back after this one. If they can bring the same intensity to a 3rd place game, I’ll be a believer.

Disappointing to lose how we did (blown lead, bad calls, couldn’t review the out of bounds thing) but very encouraging nonetheless.

This team is not bad, fun to watch, and, with a bad Big East, can actually compete for the top half of the conference.

It’s been one season. It’s not like theyre the NY Jets.

Today was a house money game IMO. Was so thrilled at the W yesterday and against shady Will Wade to boot. I don’t think USC is any good and even worse sans Rice but these 2 games showed me we are obviously better than last year (I know, not saying much) but more importantly have a chance to actually be decent in conference. Playing a far more entertaining style of basketball.

Before the season, I thought there would be a clear top 3 in the league, lots of teams fighting for spots after that, and someone residing clearly in the basement.

I’m not sure there will be anyone that is a clear bottom barrel team like last year or the year before, and there is probably a greater distance between the top 2 and everyone else than there has ever been (though I’m not writing off Creighton yet). But I think we can firmly compete for somewhere in the middle. Didn’t think I’d feel that a month ago.

So tough to have been able to notch a second quality non-conference win at a neutral site and have it lost in the way we lost it. But man, this has been such a pleasant surprise to see how this team responded to the step up in competition.

Washington State isn't good. They're not terrible the rest of the schedule we've played, but let's not stub our toe here. Getting out of there 7-1 overall with a win over NC State is a great start to our season.

Yes, make sure they get the win today. 2-1 in the tournament is a good outcome but it’s the way they are playing which gives cause for renewed optimism. Close out the OOC schedule at 9-2 and roll the dice with the BE.
