That's been circulating in several places. It's not at all surprising. Towles was a class act that could have become a distraction when he was replaced but he didn't. It is time for him to do what's best for him now.
Well, looks like the coaches listened to all the coaches on here about keeping Barker in forever regardless, but I think Towles should think he has an excellent chance of starting next year. But that will be up to him, and it would be almost anywhere he went. We do only lose one starter on the OL and one second teamer on the OL, and we have some very good help coming in there.
I hope he doesn't and I don't think he will, just an injury away from starting in any case.

We probably have a decent one that sat on the bench all year in Phillips, Matt Smith has SDS 8-0 in the MWC conference and has 165 passes in a row without an interception.
QB was not all of the problem, a few fans recognize that, and a lot of those problems should be a lot better next year. I think the overall play lowered our QB's confidence quite a bit this year also.
Actually people around the staff monitor boards. Not saying the situation I know this from but a post was listed about a coach and the staff called and had it removed.
I saw that coming a mile away. He was way to "unfazed" by the situation to be a guy that's just going to hang out next year and sit the bench.

I've expected that for a while. He can find a program that best suits him and Stoops has one less controversy to deal with.

I believe there will be more high profile transfers. Stoops doesn't know how to lead a team or be a HC. I'm afraid the implosion has only just begun.

Exactly. He's quitting the team.....coaches are the leaders of the team which means he's quitting them. He is a capable QB that will flourish with the right leadeship. Ain't going to get that here with this staff.
Best wishes to him. He had his faults in the field of play, but he deserved better than what he got.
Just wait when he lights it up next fall. You will wish he were our QB again.

Best move for him. Transfer to a school were he can play next yr. He needs to be smart about it. He needs a pro-style offense to run. Once Wildcat, Always A Wildcat! !
I hate to hear it myself, might be a hasty decision. I wish him well, a Kentucky boy that wanted to play for UK, and some of our fans ate him up. Our amateur players deserve better, IMO. He didn't play nearly to his potential here, hope he makes it to the NFL from somewhere else, he has the raw talent IMO.
I am of the opinion that we had two good QBs all year. I think they were at a schematic disadvantage and stuck behind a horrible line.
