Well, it looks like I'll be following the season with cell phone score updates if at all. It is what it is with the media world today, but sorry, you're not important nor good enough for me to chase different streaming services.

The big east ensured cash flow for their product by breaking up inventorynto have many platforms available.

This sucks. I miss Fox.
They don't miss us. That happens when you go 7-25 and don't figure to be a great deal better.

To be clear Fox/FS1 still holds a significant (majority?) portion of the Big East media rights.

I don't love it either although I'm hoping that ESPN/Xfinity come to an agreement on allowing cable subscribers to access ESPN+.

Maybe we'll clear the low bar of selling out Walsh now that those games are confirmed to be streaming only.

This season's breakdown:

ESPN+ 6
ESPN/ESPN2 3
FS1 9
Peacock 7
Tru TV 5 (One simulcast on TNT)
TBA 1 (at Kansas State)

Wishful thinking on my part:

What if all the games were broadcast on a local station like WPIX 11. Then all the kids in the local market could watch SHU play. Then when SHU recruits talent they are all in because they watched SHU since they started High School or earlier! What a terrific recruiting tool!

As it is now most kids will watch very few SHU games if any on the boob tube.

PIX11 is local affiliate for CW network, they do have college sports, currently ACC and PAC12 football & basketball, the Big East like most other conferences are spread across multiple channels and streaming platforms.

Kids don’t know the difference between Ch 11 and YouTube. Sorry, but you’re too old!

I used that as an example. All these kids coming don't come from families that can pay for streaming services. Certainly not a bunch of them. If we were to broadcast all games where they were free to view be it Fox, CBS etc. it would be great for recruiting and for fans!

Too much inventory and the old standard of 4/5 free to air networks don't have the bandwidth for it all. More how do you get a network channel? Antenna box or some type of streamer

Again, you are too old to get it. To borrow a common refrain from a local media board, “It’s not 1975 anymore.”

Yup I use an antenna and get over 100 TV stations and when I use my Tablo over 200 TV and streaming free. I have Amazon Prime(mostly for shopping but get the streaming service with it), Kanopy (free from the library) and PBS streaming because is contribute more than $65 a year.

So yes this 80 plus guy get a lot of bang for his buck.

WPIX doesn't want to show our games even if they had the opportunity to buy the rights.

They want people to actually watch the station.

There's only one local college basketball team that would generate any kind of ratings and they play in Queens. It's two if you include the team that plays in Storrs.
