Bahe is a midwest guy as I recall....does Creighton, Xavier, DePaul etc. Apple is an SNY guy whose been doing Met pregames etc. for a while. I'd like to think they could do better than these two. An ideal pair would be Fanta and Wenzel....but I doubt they each can work for the broadcast rights holder.Bahe is pretty good.
Gary Apple is the former NYC CBS2 local sports anchor? Years ago now.
I didn't think he was allowed to travel east of Youngstown, Ohio.Bahe is a midwest guy as I recall....does Creighton, Xavier, DePaul etc. Apple is an SNY guy whose been doing Met pregames etc. for a while. Ever here Apple do fill-in BBP work on Mets game? Studio work maybe, but PBP ain’t his thing.Apple is a pro. Fanta has a long way to go as a play by play analyst to get to his level. JF's broadcast of last night's Illinois- Ohio State game along with Brendan Haywood was underwhelming to say the least. Sounded like two kids doing a HS game on Suburban Cablevision.
Can you briefly explain how to do that? All you have to do is synch up the TV with Cohen/Popkin and you are all good to go.
BTW - Nick Bahe is an ex-Creighton player.
I haven't watched or heard a Met broadcast since Ralph Kiner.Ever here Apple do fill-in BBP work on Mets game? Studio work maybe, but PBP ain’t his thing.

Did you know he went to Stanford?I'm going, so I don't have a dog in the hunt. Anyone watching should be grateful they don't have to listen to Casey.
Jim Jackson is terrible, too. Marshall can be very good with the right play-by-play pro. Must keep him from drifting [way] off topic: something Fanta (among others) has not mastered.I'm going, so I don't have a dog in the hunt. Anyone watching should be grateful they don't have to listen to Casey.
What Fanta lacks in experience he more than compensates for with energy and enthusiasm, imho.Apple is a pro. Fanta has a long way to go as a play by play analyst to get to his level. I fully agree that Apple is best suited to studio work.Ever here Apple do fill-in BBP work on Mets game? Studio work maybe, but PBP ain’t his thing.
Well, you've missed the best broadcast team in baseball. They are outstanding.I haven't watched or heard a Met broadcast since Ralph Kiner.
Wenzel is by no means great, but his Rutgers background would bring a nice dimension to the broadcast.Bob Wenzel is one of the worst college basketball announcers of the last three decades. Bahe is a far better analyst, not even close. Not a fan of Gary Apple either, but Bahe is very good.
Yes, Jim Jackson is bad. Somehow he has become a fixture on big games. I am mystified as to why.Jim Jackson is terrible, too. Marshall can be very good with the right play-by-play pro. Must keep him from drifting [way] off topic: something Fanta (among others) has not mastered.
Fanta is not an analyst he calls games does studio anchoring and field reportingWhat Fanta lacks in experience he more than compensates for with energy and enthusiasm, imho.
Jim Jackson brings a reputable playing career at college nba level that fox valuesSounds like this may be an unpopular take here but…I like Jim Jackson.
Yes, I was aware of that.Fanta is not an analyst he calls games does studio anchoring and field reporting
