Andrews is always athletic but it doesn't appear they are a cohesive unit. The Rams are coming off their best overall performance of the year and get better each week. I think Andrews will make a game of it early, but Reidsville should pull away by the half.

Definitely won't be the most competitive game between these 2 programs. As many know, Andrews coach left them high and dry a week before the season and needless to say they've been playing catch up ever since. They do have athletes and play really well in spots but just not consistently disciplined in their execution. Reidsville 42-7

I think Andrews can avoid a running clock. Andrews isn't to be slept on, they have played a pretty tough schedule so far.

I would put my money on the Rams JV team. They would beat most of the teams on the varsity schedule.
What's the rest of the Reidsville JV schedule? Doubtful the conference schools have JV teams.

Is it even possible to have such an event to happen. Hypothetically speaking.

In theory.....could you dress your entire JV team for the second half of a game?
You can dress all of the players. Rule states that if a player plays in 8 quarters of a varsity game he can no longer play on the JV team.

I suspect we will see the JVs play in a lot of 4th qtrs in the conference games.

The way you guys are talking we should just let the varsity play the jv team during the bye week and charge admission. It would be best comp varsity has seen or will see all reg season. I for one don't believe the jv team would beat most varsity on the schedule and would lose badly to varsity.

I completely agree. To think so diminishes what the varsity has done. People look at the scores and automatically assumes it's string of weak opponents and anyone would or could do it. No one takes time to consider, the last two years have been loaded with talent. We have few weaknesses. Not that it would ever happen but this varsity team would beat the JVs without question

Odd that Rams JV won by the score of the predicted varsity spread...Simmons site is strange , only part of it is updated....weird...................

Well, the man does have a real job rather than just spending all of his time satisfying the unending quest for numbers by all of us posters on this board.:)

If I was a fan of Reidsville, I wouldn't even show up until the playoffs start. That schedule is horrible, and I am not knocking your program. As a fan I would want some big games scheduled just for some excitement. Is the poor schedule based on the teams locally around you just being horrible? Can y'all not find better out of conference schools to play Reidsville?

At the time of the arrangements, all of the out of county non-conference games looked like good matchups.... on paper. But things change. I hear they had ECU scheduled. But the Holiday Inn Express in Reidsville was already overbooked due to a Shriners Convention. ECU refused to just ride buses to the game like the high school boys.

I missed the chance to see a great game. I also missed the keynote speech because all I had to wear was a Hawaiian flowerdy shirt.

a lot of schools in this area refuse to schedule Reidsville...they might arrange a home and home for a couple of years but then cop out on continuing series.......Reidsville now has to have SEVEN nonconf games....county schools are 3 (all of which are 3A size)...Magna Vista of Va. (which won 3A state title in Va 2 yrs. ago)....4A schools RJ Reynolds and NW Guilford and HP Andrews (which used to be a perennial power)...things change and what looks good on paper sometimes doesn't play out................

Andrews can still win their conference. If you think about this is a team that could get to the 2nd round.

Not to let facts get in the way of the constant bashing of the Reidsville schedule, but consider this:

There are 113 teams in the 2AA/A classification.

Simmons rates the Reidsville schedule as the 33rd toughest in 2AA/A.

This means there are 80 teams that have weaker schedules than Reidsville.

Kudos to our friends in Reidsville for a great win. One of the best Reidsville teams I've ever seen on both sides of the ball. Also proud of the Red Raiders for playing hard and continuing to show progress given the bad spot they were put in right before season started. I'll go on record as saying that I wouldn't be surprised if Andrews will have scored the most points (20) that Reidsville will give up all year including playoffs and state title. Jimmy has a solid bunch on both sides of the ball. They are very good.

I guess you were equally proud when all but 3 of your Red Raiders took knees when the National Anthem was played.

Regardless of which side of the aisle you are on, we have all been 15-18 year old kids. At 15-18, you are not in position to understand the true gravity of protest, especially not during the national anthem. Lock arms before the anthem, hell wear t shirts under your jersey or black headbands, whatever. The reality is that while they kneeled during that anthem, a man/woman in uniform likely lost their life or are actively in a dangerous place fighting for our country. A country that is far from perfect but still leaps and bounds greater than any nation in the world.
