Let me state first that Coach Somoano has my full and undiluted support for this upcoming season. Like him and wish him well..

We lost A LOT from last season so I'm not that surprised.

My Lord, that is a lot that we lost. As JC Tarheel has mentioned, when you lose this many players to graduation, then it is customary coming into the next season to not be ranked. Just look at our football team for this year. Bill and company bring in 70 new players. When did not have a single player to make any of the preseason ACC teams. They are predicted to finish 8th in the conference because of the unknowns and the uncertainty of how this team will perform this season.
Totally agree. He’s done an excellent job in his tenure, but we need to have a really successful year this year, or it’s time to get fresh ideas elsewhere imo.

Has the recruiting landscape changed at all for mens soccer in the last 5 years, and if so how have we adjusted
Related to the above: How does recruitment of European players typically work at a school like UNC? Given the massive number of potential players in Europe, how do you find players interested in attending college in the US?
With such a young team, which will be harder, building cohesion on the offensive or the defensive side of the ball?

Hmm...I feel these questions are maybe the hardest to write of any for the fall.
1. How has your system changed over the last 5 years?
2. Is there still thought/hope to go to a year-round calendar?
3. With MLS academies poaching the top caliber talent regularly to never go the college path in the first place, how has that changed the type of player that is recruited?
4. Is Sebastian Berhalter's success something that can be leveraged?
5. What does the 2025 team need to have happen to beat opponents who are going to park the bus from early in the game?

I’d like to know how Coach finds US players. More specifically, does Instagram and Twitter help?
