I watched a little of the network coverage and they were still advertising 10 so I don't think so. The 2nd wave from Thursday will be lucky to be going off by 10.
I thought I heard them say when they went off air tonight that coverage would start at 8 tomorrow. They said they would be on until 9 tomorrow night.

I don't mind a good hard test for the US Open but when the top 50 players or so in the world can't break par then course is too tricked up.

I don't mind the heavy rough, don't hit it in the fairway then you are SOL. Shut up and hit it straight. But if players end up having a hard time holding that green with short irons and wedges from the fairway then that's on the USGA and Oakmont. If a 1/2 inch takeaway on a putt sends a ball 15 feet past the whole they have a legitimate gripe.

I love the emphasis on accuracy and shotmaking but make sure your properly reward those who can do it.

Half a dozen shots on the golf channel last night displayed what I said earlier and what you are talking about, especially Spieth's wedge. That was beyond ridiculous.

It is really bad when you can't put a decent stroke on a 20' putt and just have to touch it and hope it gets somewhere in the vicinity. Sat/Sun will be interesting to watch.

No wonder cole has been banned and run off this board numerous times by posters. He's flat awful.

^ he was bitching about the USGA stopping/starting play yesterday, calling it a TOTAL FUBAR. [laughing]

He seems to forget they have 72 holes to fit in....they will play sunup to sundown the next two days JUST to be able to have a natural 18 holes on Sunday.

He's psycho.

It's ridiculous that the USGA is trying to both physically and mentally challenge the best in the world with tough greens, thick rough, dynamic tee shots and making them have to think about each and every shot they play while stating all along that's their objective here?

Yeah, it's a travesty what they're doing to these poor professional athletes.

Maybe you can give Mike Davis a call and ask him to turn off God's sprinklers while you give him some pointers on how you will fix this for them you f'ing boob.

I mean since when did they decide to have the freaking US Open on a tough track, with high rough, tough putting greens, and pin placements ? That is a dumb change, should probably just have the US Open played every year at Deere Run. I would much rather see pros firing 65's like its nothing.

I mean the NBA finals should be played on 9 foot goals with defending champs getting the worst team from the opposing conference. Not have to play a competitive team that will give them a challenge.

Justin Thomas in the red. It could be getting close to his time. 2017-18 more likely but he is getting into contention this year.

Probably need to help the players out for the weekend, this is just brutal. Maybe let them tee it up from the ladies tee and maybe throw a mulligan a side to them. US Open, worst tourney of the majors. I might be a little extreme with the mulligan a side, but this is just not fair to these PROS. Probably will not be a single round of 62 or lower. Boring.

Stenson just launched a 3-iron from 260 on #8 that stopped on a dime pin-high.

These guys, man. :flushed:

Kent is going to need to do some work to get to the weekend. Had a nice 2nd 9 today and if he would've avoided that quad might be sitting nice for the cut. He's in danger zone though.

Not even as impressive as that last shot from Rose. 183 yards from the face of the bunker. 20 feet for bird.

That bogey on 18 sucked for Bulle. He held it together pretty well, still -- beat a lot of big names. A quad on your 2nd hole, that's just brutal. Pretty impressive overall.

No clue what the projected cut will be.

Nice leather miss there for Phil on his last.

Gonna go 3-1 on my bets today, w/ Day being my only loss. #Profit

6 iron 225 yards for DJ.

[roll]

I'm in love with his swing. That low finish is a thing of beauty.

DJ's lead could very well grow tomorrow while he sits at the Telly.

Course is going to continue to get harder. You can't really hit it better than he & Piercy did today, and it's all they can do to maintain.

Guys like Stenson are rolling along at -1 or whatever, and you turn your head, and he's +7.

Not sure it will matter...Landry is going to shoot 73-75. Just hope Westwood falls off.

So mixed on Sergio. No one deserves it more that that guy but man I've enjoyed rooting against him.

Leaderboard is a who's who of "guys that should have a major."

DJ is my guy of course, but if he can't win I wouldn't be mad at Sergio winning at all. Used to hate him, then felt sorry for him, now I even kinda like him.

He's grown up a ton w/ regards to his attitude over the years, and has more than paid his dues at this point. If he's in a position to win I'll be subconcsiously rooting for him, at worst.

Westwood, OTOH, :uzi:[sick]
