Glad to see I'm on the right track with Sergio. I disliked him for so long it just became something I did without thought. These days I save all my animosity for his shoes. Hate the stripes.

First 6 guys on the leaderboard have beards. I'll take the beards, you guys can have the field.

I don't know enough about the guy to form an opinion either way. I just wondered why people don't like him.
Because he's from across the pond. And he's cocky. And pretty good. That tends to generate dislike from a lot of Americans ala poulter..

Count me in the Garcia camp. Hated the guy for so long especially after his spitting in the cup incident, but he has paid his dues and deserves a major. I do not mind Westwood winning but think he fades. From what I have seen so far, it's DJ's to lose but I cannot see him winning. He will do something to cost himself because he always does. Not mentally strong enough but it's his time to prove he can get over the hump.

Wake up at 8 and there is golf on. It''s almost like it's the British Open except it will be on until 9 tonight. Awesome!!!!!!!!!!

Surest bet of the day is that Landry will not be the leader after round 2.

The Ryder Cup Effect is difficult for some. I like Westwood and wouldn't mind him winning a major. Everyone around me hates Sergio but I don't mind him, especially after Greg Normans daughter scarred him for life.

I don't have any problem with Sergio. My brother and I always have a bet with the majors that if one of us picks the winner, the other has to pay for the next round of golf. It's become sort of an inside joke with us because I pick Sergio every time simply because he never wins, so now I find myself cheering for him. Well, he's in contention at Oakmont right now and my brother picked Rickie Fowler, who probably won't make the cut, so if Garcia can win it I get a free round of golf at the course of my choosing.

Happy that Andy Landry bounced back. Would make a great story if he is in contention tomorrow.

Lowry with a 4 stroke lead. Landry in the final group. DJ 4 strokes back.
Who knows what is getting ready to happen today?

The fat boy from Ireland is playing his [backside] off. Has a four shot lead over the field in the Open, which now is FINALLY back on schedule.

Weird thing is that Lowry has had a crappy year so far, just found the magic this week - at least so far. I would not be surprised to see DJ make a big run this afternoon. He is awfully talented to never win a Major tournament. I would also like to know what black magic Landry has found on the greens, the little dude has made every damn putt he has looked at for three rounds. Amazing.

Poulter gets his hatred the old fashioned way, he earned it. He's a pompous, overbearing prick with rabbit ears.

I got Westwood and Day in my golf pool this week so I need Westwood to win, or actually just finish ahead of DJ.

The Irish golfers are a pretty likeable bunch. Same with Lowry. Could see that dude going straight to a pub with trophy in hand and plopping it up on the bar next to him them drinking until the sun came up.

Realistically speaking Lowry is 8 under. Sucks that he got a penalty stroke for a ball moving an eighth of an inch. Just now dude is given a break for causing his ball to move. Of course he caused it. His club was grounded just behind the ball and the wind isn't blowing hard enough to make it move.

Koepka has crazy game, still learning how to play 72 holes out there -- but he's up there with the big boys as far as talent goes.

Agreed. He's gonna win some majors and be a top 10 player once he figures it all out.

Hey did you guys know that Jim Furyk spent his early years in Pittsburgh and is a huge Steelers fan? Do they really need to tell us that every time they show him?
