Got email about Walsh games, tickets on sale for season ticket holders from now until Thursday night.

Season ticket holders get 2 free tickets to one of the 3 games at Walsh; additional seats are $20/per seat. Each season ticket holder account can get up to 6 tickets per game.

I think I'm in the minority here, but I love the Walsh games. College basketball is not meant to be played in 20K seat NHL/NBA arenas.

We’re giving up good cash with these games. Let’s hope we don’t also lose them like the fiasco against Fordham last year. 🙄

I don’t mind one game a year at Walsh, but three is absurd, especially when your 2nd best home game Fairfield is there.

I tend to like the smaller arenas or on-campus environments as well, with limited exception (i.e., MSG is the greatest place in the world to watch a basketball game IMO, though that could be my Knicks fan/geographic bias).

The Braziller article this week someone in my group texted about, which I only saw snippets of because of the paywall, apparently said something to the effect of SJU making 4x+ when they play Garden games that draw reasonably well, compared to other options.

When you consider it's three games, it's got to be close to seven figures total. Then add in the goodwill gesture of free and discounted tickets to season ticket holders.

We might be losing money on these games.

I had to laugh when Felt said in his interview we've usually played two games at Walsh and that was the plan for this year.

I may be wrong but I think there was one year we played more than one Walsh regular season game in the past 10-12 years since we started doing so again.
