Game of interest as 10-1 Watauga takes on 9-2 NW Guilford. Sounds like a good one. Any thoughts.

Northwest certainly has enough firepower with Ballou at QB with capable receivers like McCloud. Run defense is OK but they are vulnerable in the secondary. Totally unfamiliar with the Boone squad.
Saw film of Watauga when they got beat soundly by a 2A Burns team who has a small offensive line. Give me Northwest to win this and move on to the third round.
Northwest should be able to score in bunches in this match up. Will be hard for Watagua to keep up, imo. I like NW Guilford here.
NW has to decipher out that deceptive run game in order to win. Watagua will try and keep NW off the field with long drives.
You say you watched video of watauga's one loss, then goff at my prediction, but know nothing else about the pioneers? What you failed to mention is burns only lost one game to an undefeated kings mountain team. Or that watauga beat an otherwise undefeated maiden team. Or a solid Mitchell team.
Watauga has one of the best, if not the best, game planning coaches in the state. Watauga doesn't always have the best, most talented rosters, but they're fundamentally sounds and technically disciplined.
The pioneers may lose to NW, and if they do, the better team will have won. But, I guarantee you they'll have given it everything they got.
I didn’t have to mention them having one loss to an undefeated team because neither team has faced quality competition compared to the 4A bracket. Burns is a good 2A team and KM is a good 3A team. I’m familiar with both teams enough to know everything I need to know to make an educated guess on this game. I know burns is small on the offensive line and they have trouble blocking on the 2A/3A level. I know they also have depth issues because they only have around 30-35 players. Your team didn’t just lose to them but got beat by 20. The level of competition is vastly different in some areas or schedules so in that case records are deceiving. I’m very familiar with Northwest and you failed to mention their only two losses came to undefeated number 1 in the state East Forsyth and undefeated top 10 Grimsley, both big 4A teams. Two teams on a completely different level of the teams on Watauga’s schedule. Nobody said your staff won’t have them prepared or that they won’t give their best effort, that’s what you’re supposed to do. I just simply made my prediction based off of what I know. Your team may win and be the better team but either way, I made my guess based off what I know and may be wrong. Good luck this week!

They've bounced back and forth from 3A to 4A over the years. They were 3A from 2017-2020 back to 4A in 2021.
