We need $7M in NIL to turn this around Next Year

Dude, you are completely off base on why Schiano is taking so long to hire a DC. Geez, where have you been the last two years?
The protracted search is because the job isn’t as attractive as others. Even Syracuse has a solid new DC!

The good DCs aren’t stupid. They see the lack of talent on the roster. The portal haul is literally going to make or break our season.

Al - cut the BS out already!! Individuals cannot contribute to NIL other than to help fund Rutgers (athletic excellence fund) operating expense. They are still liable to pay out the funds (unless they choose otherwise)

it’s all about corporate money for NIL at this point. Fans still need to donate to help the department out and fund capital expenses which are still needed.

Oh yeah…this coaching staff isn’t going to get it done even if you gave them the top 5 NBA draft picks. Nothing has changed in their philosophy and the accountability issue remains as Spencer talked about
Small business can contribute to NIL, of which we have many. Doctors, lawyers, and independent consultants qualify.

Rutgers needs to find some corporate sponsors.
Many companies have a US or World Headquarters located in New Jersey or New York City.
Rutgers should start with Pharmaceutical Companies.

We will lose badly under Pike until he's gone regardless. If he's holding us hostage and this just becomes about waiting out his contract, then keep the NIL powder dry for another coach. 10 wins vs 14. Who cares.

This year is shot and we will likely wind up with fewer than 15 Wins. Have to provide the support so we can Win next year.

$7K per fan x 1000 fans gets it done. Football has raised around $9M, which gives me hope. $7M in NIL + $3M in Revshare = $10M Total.

we can’t afford to spend less on NIL than Seton Hall. $10M in support gets us to competitive.
They need to get that $$ from local businesses. Not Fans. Fan should spend money with local businesses that advertise with Rutgers NIL. That’s how you make it work.

The root cause of our lack of success is our lack of support. The biggest issue is the lack of talent.
Both of these can be true:

- We don’t have enough NIL to form a quality high major roster
- We don’t have the coaching staff to put in the right system, develop guys , and maximize talent on a roster

It’s not enough to get one kid. You need a supporting cast around him, otherwise what’s the point? Pretty sure the kid is Donte Moore, who transferred to Oregon, and who could blame him. He spent a year getting beat up at UCLA. Now he is on track to be a high draft pick because he has a supporting cast.

we have supporting cast players. Now we need an alpha male to come in and be “The Man”.
They had 2 of those guys last year and finished below .500.

A top assistant or a lower level head coach would jump at the chance to be a B1G head coach. If Keli has a plan to get the NIL $ up in the future, they will buy in.

Donate your $7K and show your receipt!

You’ll have my attention and I’ll consider* doing the same!!!

We had plans to build a Fieldhouse. Where did those end up? Coaches don’t care about plans anymore, they want to know what the reality is. How much do you have available TODAY? Otherwise you can’t fix problems.

Why not give the Coach who has actually been successful here, the support he deserves?

We’ve been waiting for whales to show up for the last 156 years. It has t worked out, so everyone who cares has to do their share. Or watch basketball die on the vine. 🪦
Not true. For most of that time our athletic department has operated like a middle of the pack Ivy League school. We don’t have all the old fat cat alumni who remember athletic glory days like other Big Ten schools.

You think Syracuse is an attractive job? They barely beat UConn at home.

Individuals can no longer provide NIL.
I don’t think that’s entirely accurate because everyone’s roster budget is different so there is still methods to bringing in $ other than revenue sharing

we might want to believe that but you can’t sit here and say every school in big 10 is operating under the same constraints

No chance I'm giving Pike money.. he has no eye for talent.
He has an eye for talent. His problem is that he doesn't have the ability to effectively utilize it. Judging from the way Dylan and Ace have performed in the NBA, their talents were squandered here. Particularly Dylan's.

If success were important to our alumni, they would have ponied up a long time ago. Success is booster driven, not administration driven.

They’re not. Michigan fans clearly ponied up and that is why they have a top notch team.

We got Dylan and Ace to the draft. He would have gotten to the draft had he remained with Rutgers.
Dylan and Ace would have been drafted wherever they went. The mediocre coaching they got at RU had nothing to do with it. Spencer wouldn't have been drafted if he stayed here. The current coaching staff has no clue how to construct an offense that gets shooters open shots. UConn's does.

It’s more that there isn’t enough talent onhand to succeed. Look at the DL on the roster. That is the biggest issue.
RU had 2 DL transfers who were good players in the MAC and Sunbelt conferences. So did Indiana. Their DL couldn't be blocked by the future pros from Ohio State and Oregon. RU's DL was either out of position or plowed into the turf by those same future pros while their RBs ran wind sprints. That was coaching. Clearly, Greg thought so., since he fired both of his DCs AND the DL coach. There was enough talent. The problem was that Schiano hired one DC that was a mediocre retread and another that was inexperienced. I find it hard to believe that they were the first choices. I find it equally hard to believe that lack of talent was the reason he couldn't attract better coaches.
