AND if we happen to go to a shittier bowl, it's well deserved.....We didn't

finish and truth be told, we probably don't deserve the Gator.......

You just cann't enjoy being 8-4, can you? Tell me who we should have beat other than posibly OM....and they were just better that we were at that time. I know.....we should be having more moral victories against Bama & LSU. Well....I've had enough of those for a lifetime. Think I'll just enjoy where we are now and hope for improvement in the future. MSU fans just cann't enjoy the journey....

This is the crap I hate about a TOTALLY backloaded schedule. The ONLY game we lost this year that we wouldn't have lost EVERY time even if we played to our very best was against OM. Yet, we've got a ton of posters here pissing on our season because we lost 4 of the last 5. We will have a lot of the same crap next given that we play Bama, @A&M, @SC and @Ark right toward the end though LSU does move further up in the schedule. Only thing we have to feel bad about this year was the margin we lost by in our toughest games. Record wise we are about where we should be until we upgrade our talent.

I'll take 8-4 every year......The reason we can't complain is that

we absolutely got our asses handed to us against Bama, aTM, LSU and Ole Miss and they weren't even close.....And while I don't believe in moral victories, had we played those teams closer, even with a loss to the Rebs, it would've improved our chances for a higher bowl and there wouldn't have been as much talk about us being the product of a soft schedule.......

Well, not exactly. The selection committees consider the wins, especially the season ending trends.

Legitimate question for SPS. If we are a lock for the Gator, why did the athletic department have a recent facebook status encouraging State fans to tweet at the MCB, Gator and Chik-fil-a bowls to show our support? I'm not saying that we are not, just curious as the the motivation behind that status as opposed to just staying silent if they knew we were Gator bound? Obvious second inferred question is if the athletic department don't know, who do?

yup. SOS does matter. But what coach is saying is that it doesnt matter unless you are in contention for a bcs or nc game. Which is correct. SOS for MSU and OM this year might have meant NO bowl. Below 10 regular season wins, sos doesnt count for much unless you are in CUSA or the Mountain West or the Big East.

Tell the 2004 Auburn Tigers that SOS doesn't matter.
Auburn had the toughest SOS of the 5 undefeated teams that year, so it didn't matter then either. It was entirely based on preseason rankings and unwillingness of the voters to drop a team who didn't lose.

Because locks can be unlocked. For example, aTm was a lock for the Capital One until the conferences wanted their championship game losers in the bowl.

It matters to the media and sportswriters and their votes can

either put you in or out of the top 25........In our case, it's out because in the court of public opinion our schedule was weak and we only beat one team with a winning record......
