They should make them forfeit every game from 1993 as well. To be fair.
Hmmmm. 2 Charlotte high school teams forfeit entire seasons. I sense a trend. More Charlotte teams to follow?
That is not entirely correct. I do not remember the exact particulars but there were some complexities involving a move from out of state, a grandmother and their subsequent move out of the district, the student filing for emancipation. The student was allowed to play basketball at another school where the grandmother had moved.
Most felt the student was in the right on legal grounds but to win you have to hire an attorney.
The player did not play in every game so why should they forfeit more games?
I Maybe wrong, But I believe if you’re dressed out and on the side line that makes you ineligible.
Then you have to forfeit the game.

You are correct, if a player dresses he is a participant. I should have written dressed instead of played.
CORRECTION. 1994 is the correct season. My bad.
All games that he dressed for the game was forfeited. I remember the case and that many felt the student should be allow to participate in athletics but was ruled against. Not sure but I think he was injured which is when the questions came up. Do not think it was as much residency as it was legal guardianship, who lived where, et al.

WC couldn’t care less this morning about those wins being retracted, they just had Dylan Smothers enroll there.
I actually picked 1993 because of how they ended Crest's season. Wasn't aware they had issues back then as well.
Correction. I meant to write it was 1994 not 1993. 1994 season was one of Knotts worst at WC. Lost to Ashbrook. They had a good team in 1993 but were absolutely rolled in the second half by a really good Northern Durham team on a very cold and windy day at Kenan.
WC returning their complete O-line and adding Smothers to that mix along with their other returning starters definitely makes them a legitimate state championship threat this upcoming season. The addition of Smothers will make his new WC teammates raise their level of dedication and discipline to getting better. WC football now has my attention!
