GAME THREAD West Virginia basketball at Oklahoma

Surprising given WVU's most notable road wins are an ugly game vs this year's Big 12 cellar dweller and against Pitt over 2 months ago. Hence, WVU has yet to prove it can beat a tournament level team on the road. This team needs to prove it on the court as they let Kansas get away, got embarrassed by KSU, and couldn't come up with a win in Lubbock.
Problem we will have with OU is they don't turn the ball over, and they don't foul. So if we have another 19 turnover game then we have another 20 point loss. OU has 2 guys that can light it up but they do have a short bench. So WVU will need to get them to foul.
Most over-rated team in America. Terrible in every phase of offense except rebounding, and it has been that way for how many years? Team is getting worse instead of better.
Culver getting frustrated and handling it poorly. 6 point swing at the end of the half because of him.
Down only 7 despite shooting 14.3% in 3’s and 50% in free throws and 33.3% in field goals, but out-rebounding Oklahoma 19-15.
The shots will start falling in, then Huggins Heroes and Pitbull Defense will prevail.
Culver and Tshiebwe need to help Haley, too.

Oscar also needs to be in the game to have an impact. Instead, Huggins yanks him for the most idiotic reasons.
This team lacks the focus or mental fortitude to win. Any team with a pulse we play on the road this team either folds like a cheap suit or only plays in spurts, but never really gets into position to win. I'd kill for some competent guard play to go with our front court.

29% shooting, 2/12 from 3, and only got to the free throw line 8 times. This team is getting exposed.
Lot's of work to do. One thing I've noticed is that if you foul Culver on a missed bucket, it really almost amounts to a turnover for us, since it's very unlikely he'll hit his FTs.
Allen...I hear ya...but every year there is an ongoing debate as to why the Mountaineers can't shoot worth a damn and struggle on the road. Love Huggs however there is an ongoing systematic problem with his teams. Tired of settling for promises and middle of the road finishes. Just sayin'.

31% against Oklahoma. 22 misses from two feet. Poor shooting team last few years. Abysmal foul shooting again. Three straight road losses. One win in four conference road games. Huggs admits this is lousy. Pollyanna feelings don't change things.
