Basketball losses happen. This is an unfortunate one but you aren't hearing anyone from the team talking about the flu. Devries mantra is "No Excuses". Just move on and prepare for Saturday.

Iowa State didn't seem to have any issues against their bottom feeder at home.

There is a pattern forming or already. Giving 110% to beat top teams in the country on the road and at home. With a short bench and 2 days rest they seem to not have the legs left for a bad team. Flu didn't help.

This is a bad loss and not a good look if the tournament is your goal. You can call it an excuse all you want but that's what is showing.

This is the kinda games I was expecting this year and we haven’t seen hardly any. Devries is a great coach. Definitely exceeded my expectations already. I think in the years to come we will be a force to be reckoned with.

I think we are now. We just need to find a way to grind out wins in games we are sucking in. That's even harder to do with not enough depth. In the coming years we will have that depth.
