--Day five and they went back to split practices with a focus on the run game. Also did some special teams work as well.
--Full pads tomorrow and in helmets only it’s basically alignment and assignment. They’ve learned from the way they look is better and team speed is better. Offensive line is better and overall there is a significant.
--Vandarius Cowan fought the move to bandit but has really embraced it. Had to change what they asked to do the first couple years but believe they can do what they want with it this year. Jared Bartlett has gotten ready and is playing Lanell Carr there, too.
--Offensive line wise the depth is night and day. The receiver room is physically ready and the tight end room is totally different. Defensively first and second level is really improved but in the secondary there is a lot of experience there.
--Daryl Porter has had a tremendous start to camp. Jackie Matthews has been bothered by a foot but is playing through it and Charles Woods is more than capable.
--When they had to play four true down linemen they got wore out. So they’re trying to develop some depth and they have to play some guys up front.
--Sam Brown has flashes, he’s talented but has to be more consistent and take care of his body. He’s a physical presence and what they wanted from a playmaking standpoint but has to do a better job taking care of his body and being detail oriented.
--Bobby Bowden had a tremendous impact on coaching. They came back and won a game against Troy when he was an assistant down there. He was very humble to his team and always spoke from the heart. He really changed the way they game was played offensively with tempo and spreading the field.
--DeVell Washington they want to see him be physical. He’s playing on the edge of the defense and he’s learning and they really think he should have an impact on special teams.
--Brown said the pre-season camp model hasn’t been much different with the changes because of what most coaches were doing already. He doesn’t think there is a huge difference.
