--West Virginia head coach Neal Brown recognizes Chuck Howley for being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

--The Mountaineers had a good fan day with a lot of interaction between the players and the young people.

--Recovery day practice for them so it was really light. Practice in intervals and today it was short and for all intents and purposes camp starts on Monday which is the last day of shells and then moves to pads after that.

--The coaches try to give everybody two scrimmages before they start to narrow things down on position battles. There are some that just aren't open, but others are as well as backups and travel roster spots. Most of those decisions will be made that Sunday or Monday after the second scrimmage but some could go longer. You have to keep hope alive because while some players might not help them this year, they will have a bright future down the road.

--Doug Nester is going to be the right tackle and it's the best fit for him. That's where they anticipate him playing him when they open the season, while Ja'Quay Hubbard and Brandon Yates are competing for that right guard spot.

--Brown has been really impressed to commissioner Brett Yormark with realignment because he has been very aggressive. The Big 12 is sitting at 16 teams and are in a position of power.

--Hold off on the opinions at the wide receiver. EJ Horton had a nice day today.

--Rodney Gallagher and Jaheim White. Gallagher has put on 12-pounds since he's been here and he has blocked a lot better than he anticipated because he has never had to. He's made a couple really contested catches over the middle. Jaheim has been here all spring and he came on the last two weeks of spring practice. He plays at a different gear and is quicker and a different running style. He catches the ball and really sudden.

--They look better and are bigger at bandit. They have more natural pass rushing talent there but let's get into some third down pass rushing situations and see how it shakes out.

--They are being intentional about being physical and tackling the ground.

--Spring wise what they do from a belief standpoint is all about individual evaluation and working the fundamentals of the special teams. They build into it in the summer and fall camp they go into it. They're going to do more live 11-on-11 work than they have in the past.

--Different doesn't mean bad. Sometimes we get used to things and people in general don't like change but just because it's different doesn't mean it's worse.

--Tomiwa Durojaiye has a chance to earn himself in the rotation and be a factor this fall.
