This will be one of the better matchups in the season opener. If the Tornadoes are healthy and still have as much firepower on offense as they have had in the past, there's no doubt that the Tornadoes will score enough points to win. Will they, however, keep the Wolverines from outscoring them? Looking at the season results from last year, Westover scored 52 points on the Tornadoes under a much improved defense under Coach Heil. Not sure who to take in this one, since both Westover and Fairmont both return several players either on offense or defense. I think that whoever has the ball last in this game wins. I think that this will be a high scoring affair, since neither team's defense will be able to stop each other's offense. I'll go with the team that seems to have a more balanced attack and a tremendous ability to sling the ball around the yard. What are your thoughts S2V?

Fairmont 48 Westover 42 Final

By the way, we play South Brunswick in our opener. I think we will be able to gauge how we will be based on how we perform in that game. Hoping to be much improved under our new coach. Good luck to the Tornadoes this season. Hope they win all of them except one.

Except one?.....lol
I'm worried about the wolverines RBs.....they are freaking quick. They are just too quick, too fast, cut corners, bust through the trench, bust peoples mouth, big tough hogs......they are just too good......................JUST TO MUCH DURN HORSE POWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's my concern

Paid a visit to The good ol Tornadoes and I must say, it will be another year of great success. They have already been publishes to finish 1st and with so many coaches, last year was great as I see this year being greater. Mr. Julius of course the the QB and with changes in all positions, speed is all over the plate at dinner time.

Something serious is in the body of the Tornado, but something greater will happen beyond the November rain

The storm is calling for an evacuation

Don't think it will a shootout!!! Westover has all the major components of its offense back, and 7 starters returning on defense. Could get ugly if they get stops early

I haven't seen a team that doubled up its opponent, with most of the pieces returning come in as an underdog!!!!! Let's get it!!

I'd love to see Fairmont play against Clinton. A team that slings the ball all over the field versus a team that loves to ground and pound teams into submission.

Westover plays defense. This could get ugly fast.
Fairmont plays both

I beg your pardon, they play all three: Defense, Offense and Endzone.

Ooops almost forgot...I'm sitting here looking at the 2 point conversion chart. The force of nature is about to activate

Early Vegas money was coming in on Westover but it has flipped as the Kickoff nears.... Therefore I am picking the Golden Tornadoes by 1 point. This game will truly cause you to.......sweat to victory!!!!

I agree with you wolfbite. It could get ugly early in either team's fashion. It Fairmont gets a few stops, which I highly doubt will happen, Fairmont could roll the Wolverines up. The same thing could happen if Westover gets a few stops. This one is a toss up. Fairmont did not lose at home last year.

I saw where S2V posted that Fairmont beat Pine Forest 42 to 21 in a scrimmage last week and that Caulder threw for 6 touchdowns. You are not giving the Tornadoes any respect wolfbite. You might lose your money if you think that they cannot put up points on you. They have to many weapons for you to think they cannot compete. They beat us 58-0 last year, and their best WR only had like 60 years receiving. They have all kinds of weapons.

Wolfbite showed no lack of respect. Westover is getting NO respect. Fairmont lost by 26 last year, and they are favored in a shootout? Who is really being disrespected?

Good point, I just think the Tornadoes got better as the season went along last year. I heard that they were awful when the season started last year. That might have had a lot to do with the head coaching change. They obviously went to the 3rd round and they have everyone on offense back for the most part. I, personally, think that Westover's QB and RB will have a HUGE night at Fairmont because their defense is inexperienced. I personally hope Westover beats Fairmont because they gives us more of a shot to make the playoffs since Fairmont is in our conference.

Just so wolfbite does not throw up on me, I better document this on the world wide web....

The defense will be young and thin. But if they can find answers there, the Golden Tornadoes should continue the momentum from last year

Definitely!! I heard the OL was new. That's not good against a front 7 that's experienced and tough
