Point taken, but it’s a committee. By definition it’s collusion. That’s the point of having a committee. No matter what you do as long as it’s a poll, writers, ADs, 3rd grade boys on the playground, it doesn’t matter, you will have controversy. Until it’s just win loss on the field in a standardized schedule this is what you have. A ******** system.
Bullcrap. The mere existence of a committee does not imply collusion.
Collusion = advanced planning and conspiracy by bad actors to ensure that a certain outcome will occur….regardless of the various individual unknown future results that should determine the outcome. The desired outcome is thus controlled by outside influences with selfish intent.
In this case, the desired outcome was to ensure all four of the largest conferences had at least one representative in the College Football Playoff. The actual individual results dictated that one of those four conferences did not have a deserving representative. The champion of the conference didn’t even get in.
The conspiracy was that the bad actors on the committee were being influenced by ACC interests to make sure that there would be a team taken from their league. So they started a gradual “ascension plan” weeks ago to artificially raise Miami’s profile….in a worst case scenario of an undeserving ACC champ. Their own terrible scheduling model made this undeserving champ scenario not only possible, but likely after Miami’s 2nd loss, because Miami was the the only potentially viable candidate from the league. The secondary benefit was that they could also keep Vandy out by bumping Miami ahead of them, thus ensuring that there’d be no more than 5 SEC teams.
It’s blatantly obvious outside influence, and manipulation for the sake of the almighty dollar. Again. Just copy/paste this for every single problem in all of college football. It’s all the same crap, over and over again.
